Thanksgiving Day Carol Burnett was the featured guest on TCM.  They would show a movie and then rerun a skit from the Carol Burnett show that parodied the movie.  So funny.  She looks great and is very much with it in her 90's.

Most famous is the Blown by the Wind parody of Gone with the Wind.  The famous dress she wore descending the staircase that she "saw it in the window and just had to have".  Also saw a skit based on Top Hat and the Fred Astaire dance films of that era.  Carol and Ken Berry did a fantastic job.  I didn't know Ken Berry was so talented in the singing and dancing department.

Anyway, it was worth watching.  Did anyone else see any other parodies?  By the way, I have NEVER seen Gone with the Wind in its entirety.  Pieces here n there but never all the way thru.  Will have to put on my bucket list.

I did catch the skit with Carol Burnett "Went  With the Wind" last night. I have to watch it everytime it is shown.

It is amazing what they were able to do in one weeks time. Carol Burnett said sometimes they would have hours to learn the script. And Bob Mackie was able to come up with priceless ideas for costumes. And then to make all the costumes.

I know You Tube has some of the "Went With the Wind" parody. Not sure if it is the entire episode. I looked on Watch TCM and the Betty Grable movie was not being shown.

I love D*ck Van D*ke and have been watching a lot of him on Facebook posts and reels lately.  He turns 100 in a couple of weeks.  There was a post yesterday about a party held in his honor and Carol Burnett attended.  She looks terrific.  They both do!

That GWTW parody was hilarious - she took the curtiains down to make a dress and left the curtain rods in and wore them.   Sorry I missed it on TCM.  I've seen GWTW so many times it's ridiculous.

@FranandZoe

Carol Burnett's “Went with the Wind” sketch is iconic & unforgettable ... A look back at one of television's funniest moments — the curtain dress. The article was written in 2016, but

I saw it in the window, and I just couldn't resist it...

A lot of what made that show so funny was when the actors adlibbed and cracked each other up.  I laughed just watching them trying not to laugh.

I watched the parody of "A Stolen Life" with Bette Davis  playing twins. Also the "Mildred Pierce" parody with Joan Crawford. She said Joan called her after it aired & told her how much she enjoyed "Mildred Fierce".

Fell asleep during GWTW & missed that one sadly - A favorite.

I enjoyed her on TCM.  I've already seen the GWTW spoof and that is so good.  I watched her spoofs of the Joan Crawford movies, Torch Song and Mildred Pierce.  They were hilarious.  I loved the wigs she wore.

Anyone watching her on Palm Royale (Apple tv)?  She can not only do comedy, but she can play a mean b..... as well.  Love her.
