I applaud Patti, some people still feel that they are above the rules.

going to chime in here
my mahjong group went to see a show in September, and while the entire check in process went just fine and everyone was masked, we all agreed it is just too close in the seats and wouldn't be in a hurry to go again.
the seats are very close together, lines for food at the interval and bathrooms
so yes I would wear a mask

Agreements between Actors Equity and The Broadway League require cast and crew vaccination and frequent testing.
That is why shows are often canceled when a major cast member tests positive.
We can get all the shots we want, required, demanded or voluntary...doesn't stop me from GETTING Covid...and won't stop anyone else.
My vac also doesn't prevent me from spreading it to you.
However, I always follow the rules or won't go.
She should have sent an usher out to handle the situation. Calling out like that on stage is rude, arrogant and ignorant, IMHO.

YES, ridiculous the culprit had to be asked. It's not as if she was captured and forced to be in that theater.

Patti Lupone was not wearing a mask when she told the audience member to get
out for not wearing a mask.

She was onstage fully socially distanced, as well as tested immediately prior to her performance, I'm sure.

If masks are required, wear the bleeping mask or dont go to the theatre. How hard is that?

@Iwantcoffee What rules had the theater put in place regarding testing and masking of actors on stage during the performance?
