Daniel and Nicole are not very good strategists and have a very bad read on the house. They were convinced that Monte wanted to keep Taylor (which he does) and that he must have counted the votes and realized he didn't have enough votes to keep her. Therefore, it made sense to Daniel to be sure Taylor went on the block. Daniel thinks he has Kyle and Joe on his side and their votes and can't comprehend people might be lying to him. He learned nothing from Ameerah's eviction and has no real feel for where alliances lie. (It's not like the Leftovers are hiding their alliance a lot. They're being pretty obvious.) Daniel and Nicole are just more than a bit blind.

It couldn't be happening to two more deserving players with the possible exception of Jasmine.
It's so funny to hear them laughing and saying how stupid the others are. For some reason Nicole thinks being an ex-cop is a badge of honor (pun intended) and makes her, in her words, an (expletive) bada$$. I think she's half right, just leave off the bad part. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out she was kicked off the force.

What a fun update, @gardenman ! Thank you. Now just hoping it all goes as planned and Daniel and Nicole don't see it coming. I laughed when she was so put out that nobody gave her the heads up about Ameerah. She is one full of herself gal. Has Daniel ever figured out what that bullying speech by Turner was about?

To be a bit fair to Daniel and Nicole, it would be hard to imagine that Monte and company wanted to boot Alyssa so that Indy would go to Michael and Brittany so everyone in their alliance would have an expendable member. That would take some 3-D chess strategy on their part (Daniel and Nicole's) to understand that. They see Kyle and Alyssa being close. Why would Kyle want Alyssa gone? From their perspective and knowing what they know, Monte trying to protect Taylor would be the only reason to ask Daniel and Kyle not to use the POV. Therefore, if you want to hurt Monte, you put up Taylor. If Julie even tries to explain it all to Nicole on Thursday, she's apt to only get a blank stare back. It'll take a while for Nicole to understand what happened.

So Daniel not only went against what he believed were the HOH's wishes, he put his best buddy in jeopardy. Now if only Nicole does go home. Stranger things have happened.
Sometimes you wonder if he realizes he is playing to an audience. The same audience he hopes will boost his career once he's out of the house. Did he not see Celebrity Big Brother? Perhaps he and Todrick can commiserate together once he's bounced.

Daniel and Nicole are aware there's a group that hangs out in the hoh room until the early morning hours and they're not a part of it. Neither are Jasmine, Indy, or Alyssa. Hmmm, what could it mean?
Figuring out the expendable bestie situation could be slightly more complicated but it's basically the same as Tiffany's master plan from last season. They're supposedly big fans of the game and they can't figure that out?
First there's a Pooch blindside--Taylor's safe. Then there's an Ameerah blindside--Taylor's safe again. So Daniel decides the smart move is to volunteer his best friend for the block to go up against the woman who's always safe. Brilliant plan!
This is basically no different than Pooch offering himself up on a sliver platter only this time Daniel offered up his best friend instead of himself. The good news, since these two never want to admit to anything, is that Daniel can blame Nicole and Nicole can blame Daniel. Perfect!

"Has Daniel ever figured out what that bullying speech by Turner was about?" @Wsmom
It seems like it would be pretty easy to figure out but maybe it's too big an ask from the guy responsible for putting his best bud on the block for eviction.
