The squirrel began as a sort of disctraction. Just as a dog may see a squirrel and run off fast in that direction, calling out "squirrel' means that this top or pants are great, or a new color, so they are saying better hurry and get it before its gone ! It started basically a shout-out kind of thing. And I remember a poster stating that this came from the UP moive where a dog did just that. It's grown in to a cutsie thing - the original meaning is gone.

Look at the synonyms for squirrelly on thesaurus.com. Maybe another mascot would be better, Q team? 😀

I don't know what the squirrel thing is all about, but I have seen/heard Carolyn do her baby voice, supposedly immitating a squirell and I thought it was foolish and childish. That was one time I happened to tune in. Otherwise I don't watch D & C on Tuesdays........need I say why?
