Why so much time on each item??

Does this bother anyone else? Both shopping channels spend up to an hour on 1 product....I pretty much can decide if I want something in 5 minutes or less! When I have time to watch TV I hope to see many items in an hour!! What happened to the previews?  I work in retail and my observation is that people have a short attention span.....Does QVC think by telling us how wonderful an orange or lotion smells over and over I am going to buy it?

If I see one more orange presentation I will scream.  I am glad Q2 had better things on.

Did you notice the hundreds of bell oranges somebody - or number of people - took the time to line up perfectly?

Not likely they would spend that amount of time & effort for a 14 minute spot.  Besides - viewers turn on the Q at all different times - plus 4 time zones in the USA.  Just change the channel.

They think people will buy the darn thing just to get it off their screens after 20 minutes....or an hour.  Of course what we do is turn off the TV.  They haven't grasped that concept yet.

Re: Why so much time on each item??

I have mentioned this several times over the years re spending so much time on one item.  It is totally unnecessary.  However, it falls on deaf ears.

I have a hard time w/the food presentations and the waste.  Yes, I know, the crew eats it, but they certainly can't eat all of it.

All that food going to waste and especially the honeybells.  I can't stand to watch that guy.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday about  those oranges. Get ready for some more  In the coming weeks on QVC you are going to be seeing more TSV's that have just been on HSN., specifically Beekman products. Waiting for that goat to do its business on the floor.

Re: Why so much time on each item??

Years back they had 5 min demonstrations and it was just perfect......it also allowed for more variety of products to be sold.....the only down part was you needed to order ASAP and with the shorter presentations they had less inventory...........but BASICALLY that system is what built QVC and i would def love it if they went back to that method even if it meant i would miss out on a product occassionally.

That is why B &M stores i feel are more ahead of the times since they have inventory turnover regularly and not a bunch of product sitting in a warehouse.

And if that cute little goat does do its business on the floor, what's the big deal, really?! The goat is just doing what comes naturally to most animals.
