Waitlist status (after order placed not on waitlist) :(

Becuase I’ve now had this happen at least twice, I figured I’d mention it, as it’s a little inconvenient...

Last night, I placed an order for the TSV for a November developers date. The choice I made was shown as “available” and not a waitlist item. So I placed the order assuming it would be delivered as indicated.

Today, I checked the status of my orders and see the TSV order I’d placed last night is “waitlist”. My only choice is to CANCEL it, or leave it on waitlist holing it’ll ship.

My complaint is that had this been “waitlist” when I placed the order, I would have purchased a different configuration, or I would have ordered for a December delivery instead. I can’t do that now and still get the TSV price.

I’ve had more than one item ordered that was BOT on waitlist when I completed the order, but the status changed to waitlist AFTER the order was placed. QVC does show certain items available as “waitlist only” so I my suggestion is that Q use the “waitlist only” status when inventory is simply too low to guarantee fulfillment. That seems to be what happened here, and that only AFTER I placed my order online did the system recognize they’d oversold and moved me to waitlist.

I normally wouldn’t care and would cancel the order, but when it’s a special price, TSV it free shipping only available on a specific day, I would have chosen to order a different color/size/variety had I known my original purchase was waitlisted and may not be fulfilled.

Anyone else experience this? And suggestions for me are appreciated too Smiley Happy. On an aside, when I placed the orders I did NOT get the disclaimer message telling me the order was on waitlist and that I was approving payment if it comes in stick within 45 days. If I’d seen that message, I would not have placed the order and instead, would have chosen a different delivery date or configuration of product.

Yes it has happened on prior purchases but I contacted chat room, gave them the details and explained.  I got the tv price and the second choice I wanted.

I ordered the Berkshire heated throw, I put it on check it was on for about 2 days when I went to change my payment method It now says backorder, I ordered it at midnight so there's no way it should be on backorder, I know they fill the credit card orders first but they don't even give the people paying by check a chance, just my opinion

@Mrsq2022, I never had that happen. Certainly sounds frustrating.

 

I did have an item that I knew was Waitlisted when I ordered it last month. The item, at the same price, was shown a few days ago. So I cancelled my Waitlisted order and ordered again. I should receive it today or tomorrow. I didn't understand why my original order was never filled and it was only by chance I saw it was on air again.

I recently ordered a TSV. It was in process for over a week. On the day of the estimated delivery date it changed to waitlist with no estimate of shipping date. I cancelled it.  It is very irritating that they really have no idea of what inventory they have.

Fortunately I have not had this happen with QVC, but I have had it happen a few times with HSN.

I have twice ordered an item that showed as available but later changed to backorder.

 

I cancelled one and the vendor cancelled the other.

 

Right now I have the TSV for 10/29, Duraflame, ordered.  Estimated delivery date is November 9.  Order Status indicates "preparing your order." I am beginning to wonder what's going on with that.

I am confused as to how I can have an item on waitlist or auto delivery and you tell me that it is not available but QVC runs the same item as a TSV. How can they fulfill new orders if the old ones have yet to be taken care of. This has happened to me three times in five months. I am not happy at all!
