Many times this is nothing more than a sales ploy.
However, ploy or not, I don't care to tune into shows to watch a host "ordering." They can order on their own time, not while they are supposed to be presenting the items.
I don't believe any of them got any message about ordering on air. I'm betting we will see it in full force again.

I can guess who it was! She does it all the time now!

I no longer watch this particular host as others have mentioned. To those who think it's no big deal, I respectfully disagree. I don't enjoy watching any host have a near meltdown because her size and the color she wanted was no longer available. The host's job is to present the product in a professional way to make it more appealing to the customer. It's a simple concept. It's all about the product and the customer....in no way should it be about the host.

I feel as other do in that this is merely a sales method. I don't care for it either, but it must work. Just like the Happy Dance, and when a host mentions that their mother bought the item, it must result in an uptick in calls when they pretend to be ordering. QVC is a shopping channel after all, and they must do what creates momentum during the sales process.
Several replies say that these sales methods do not work on them, but they must work on SOMEONE, and that's the point. The producers can see that orders increase when hosts use certain phrases and techniques. I've been with QVC for around 20 years, so I consider myself to be a seasoned shopper as are many of you. We have to remember, though, that not everyone is, and many folks may respond very well to tried and true sales methods that we all roll our eyes at. If it bugs you, just mute the channel as they say, LOL.

Having a host order while presenting on air doesn't make me rush to buy. If anything, it turns me off from watching. It's just an annoying sales tactic that some unfortunately fall for.

We all know she is. She enjoys the limelight and is not afraid to let us know who she is. I don't need to watch this or her for that matter.

It's laughable to think that just because the diva hosts say they are buying something, that I would have to own it too. They know what they are doing gets under some of the customers skin and they continue to use that sales tactic anyway. Just remember ladies, these hosts make 6 figure salaries and will do or say anything to keep that coming. I would in their position.

@mose Carolyn is not fake. I met her in person and she is warm, kind, and very down to earth. Talking about her family does not make her fake; she is just trying to connect with those watching. Some people watch to feel like they know the hosts, especially lonely people. So let her talk, she is not saying anything annoying, just chatting a little. She always describes the product in detail and is professional.
