Tucking tops is a sloppy look.  It is long gone.  The hosts need to take a look in the mirror.

Amy tucked her blue top into her cream pants yesterday and looked terrific.  She added a leopard belt.

Do you have an example?

I think wearing that look depends on the person's body shape.

I don't think that the tuck looks sloppy.  Not at all.  It is/was a trend.  A trend that I never got into.  I say dress for yourself, whatever brings you joy.

Re: Tucking Tops

[ Edited ]

I agree with the body type/shape comment. When I was much thinner I tucked in everything from sweaters to tshirts and belts were usually worn too. At this middle age stage that includes body shape changes including weight distribution being reallocated, I look sloppy with half and full tucks, and belts are generally not comfortable and hard to find in my size. I think part of it is how much more material is involved now for my body and tucking it in adds more "padding" that I do not want. To each their own, though.

I couldn't disagree more @Vitsy . Of course, it depends on the body type. I find tucking in some of my blouses actually makes it more trendy and put together. Some tops I have look very sloppy when left out to just hang. I am very satisfied with my fashion sense.

I am going to venture to say that the OP meant the half tuck and not tucking all the way, which is normal.

I miss the days of being able to tuck in my top, lol.

Tucking helps define the waistline & is very flattering on certain body types
