Timer countdown to cancel ticket

I placed an order online today at Bed Bath and Beyond.  When the order confirmation page displayed, I noticed there was a 30 minute timer ticking away to show me the remaining time I had to cancel the order.

I thought that was a great way to give me, the consumer, an opportunity to cancel the order instead of locking the order shut.  It would be nice if QVC could implement this tool instead of immediately flagging an order "in process" and impossible to stop.  Consumers do make mistakes, so it would help us.  It could also cut down on the call volume to QVC customer service from customers needing to change a size or color, or just cancel altogether.  Seems like a win-win situation to me!  😀

Re: Timer countdown to cancel ticket

I've recently canceled orders up to 10 hours after placing them.  However, if its a vendor-shipped item, it probably can't be canceled.

I can think of a few places that give you an hour or two to edit or cancel an order.  In addition to Bed Bath Beyond, Walmart, Chico's, LL Bean, Land's End, Duluth Trading Company, and Macy's come to mind.

Yes, vendor shipped items tend to get processed much quicker.  Ten hours might be too long.  I do think 30 minutes is too quick.  Not sure what the happy medium would be that could help both sides.

@Trix  Yes, other places give you a window to change or cancel.  I had never seen an actual timer ticking away before though.
