Smaller amounts for food items

There are many foods I would like to try, but I have a small family and don't need the large amounts that are often the only option.

I know and agree, silly isn't it?  I don't want to freeze half, since I'll forget before long.  I say waste not, want not here, but you have to really be careful of that.

Many of the food items are what I would consider party food so twelve servings could be eaten up fast.

I agree.  I'm a one person familly now and i just can't use up the big amounts of things offered.  I would greatly appreciate seeing smaller "try me" sizes, even though I would expect higher prices.  I would also be very happy if QVC would offer more items that are diabetic friendly.  They did have a cookie line that was intended for diabetics - Joseph's maybe.  And Cheryl's did offer some sugar free cookies that were just okay.  But many things could be made without sugar or with reduced sugar and offered.  I know there are many diabetic viewers who would also appreciate this.  It could even be a special half hour show from time to time.

I am guessing they make more by selling in bulk.

Re: Smaller amounts for food items

I don't think most people who might be interested would be willing to pay the prices.

If you choose a smaller-sized order, or a "half order" of foods in a b&m restaurant, the price is only a few dollars less than a regular order. Common saving is only about 20%. Same thing if you order an item on Amazon or from a company website. You can get a small(er) size, but people feel it's a rip-off for the amount the smaller size costs, plus s&h, still charged for the smaller amount.

There may be people willing to pay for this, but knowing the huge quantities that QVC deals with on their mdse, I don't think enough people would go for it to be worth QVC's while to present it.

Wonder if they would consider sample boxes - maybe in categories of sweets, meats, sides....

I think their food is so overpriced I would not be buying it even in smaller amounts. The Joseph's sugar free cookies are available at the Dollar Tree in several flavors. They have sold them for years. Go to netrition.com for a huge selection of diabetic food choices.

I don't even bother since they never tell the ingredients of any of it.

Another option might be to go in with someone else and split an order of something you'd like to try from Q.

My mom and I buy some of Q foods, and she often gives us part of her orders, and I reciprocate by taking up meals when I cook something homemade.

I have not had any trouble keeping things longer term in the freezer from Q. Most things have been wrapped well, or for other things, I simply put them inside a lock and lock container.
