I am annoyed to see that shipping can be as high as $7.  HSN has the right idea with free shipping of all shoes.  We all know how difficult it can be to get the correct size, so why not make it more appealing to order, in case we don't or can't use the free exchange feature.  At least we'd only have to pay the return shipping, & not have another $5-7 tacked on.  I now only consider shoes with free shipping!

shipping is not free, there is a cost that has to be picked up somewhere. So the company may choose to not charge shipping for shoes but that cost will be somewhere.

It's hard to believe that these shopping channels do not get a big break on S&H because of the volume they do. So yes, shipping can be free, QVC is not going to offer free S&H for exchanges if they are going to lose money. I think these shopping channels make money on every transaction from start  to finish just on the S&H alone.

No new boots this year, but that's because the last 2 seasons were a boot buying frenzy.

everything should be free shipping.

they just need to play the free shipping game.

actual shipping costs needs to be factored into cost of goods and hit the margin.

separating it out is now a negative perception.

easy peasy, but then it will take some a longer time than others to figure out even the easy stuff.

I've mailed a pair of shoes and it cost considerably more than $7.

Yes, QVC depends heavily on profits from shipping costs to balance the books.

The shipping fees are terrible and, on top of that, it takes forever to receive an item.  I looked at a pair of shoes that were almost $9 to ship.  I found them at least three other sites for free shipping and free returns on the same pair.  More and more, the Q is losing my business for sure.  The amount you have to pay to ship and return if they don't work out is not worth it...

This is how Q and other companies make big bucks.

I worked for a large corporation and they got huge breaks from UPS and FedEx (as well as USPS).  They could send domestic 2 day UPS for $3.50-5.00 depending on where it was going. And they will negotiate with any large business that ships a lot of things so  I'm sure Q is also receiving those breaks.

Re: Shoe Shipping

[ Edited ]

One thing I notice about QVC when it comes to two things, Dooney handbags and shoes.  The exact same item will sell for them same price, very often less, and the shipping will be free.  So, guess where I buy them 99% of the time.  Plus, shipping doesn't take as long as shipping from QVC.
