My suggestion is that we would be able to search clothing items by color as I can do on other fashion web sites such as JJill.  For example if I want to find something to match an item I would be able to search by color without going through every item.  I bought a Logo cardigan in Cocoa and wanted a matching tank.  I had to go through every tank listed separately to find one in the color I wanted.  It would make things so much easier.

You can. 

After you do your initial search, use the panel on the left to narrow your results. You can narrow by brand, size, color, price range, and more.

I searched Tank Tops, then chose Fashion from the left panel on the results page and that gave me more options, including color:

I think she means searching color by name, like COCOA, to see pieces that match what she already owns.
