i recently received 2 lipsticks. One came in a large UPS urgent envelope about 16 x 11, and so did the other!! Really QVC, who is working in the mailing department? The postage was $3 for each one, but this is ridiculous. Both lipsticks should have been mailed together for $3.

QVC has always been terrible about this. If you place an order with three items, you will almost always get three separate packages. They do sometimes group the same items or brands, but I am still always shocked when they do that.

It's true. QVC ought to overhaul its shipping processes.
Other companies have solved this issue and made it more efficient. It's not clear why QVC has not.

@GingerPeach And the Q's idea of lowering the rates seems to be their fix. But in fact it's created a lot of headaches and money lost to us as the comsumers.
They need to seriously take a closer look at what they've done and totally revamp it even if it means going back to the way it was.
As a side note, they've done this to me too - I order more than one of someting but it gets split into two mailings with s/h on each one. Bad PR for us. Don't understand why they do this.

Believe it or not, combining shipping is not always cheaper.
Sometimes, items come from different warehouses or different locations within the same warehouse, and it costs more in time and labor to gather and combine the products for shipping that shipping them separately.
While some smaller companies which have a more hands-on shipping department may be able to do this, in a largely automated shipping department, it is not always possible. Even otherretailers do this at times. In fact, I once ordered 13 items from Amazon -- all books -- and received them in 11 separate packages.
As long as people are receiving their packages, I do not see a problem. If the concern is about waste, then perhaps doing a lot of mail order is a bad idea anyway.

Dear @KYToby
We do know what the issues are. We are aware of different warehouses and some of the other processes involved.
But how is it efficient to package two lipsticks into two packages? (I realize the OP did not say these were from the same manufacturer). On the other hand, QVC does not have a good track record of packaging like items (from the same manufacturer) together.
Surely there is room for improvement. It would be a shame if you believed otherwise.

It's amazing that even when you order multiples of the same item on a "buy more and save" they still often ship them separately.
