In case you forgot, your drivers license (for those who drive) DOES NOT have a chip & can easily be scanned. Your life history is embedded in your drivers license - SS#, address (old & new), motor vehicle info, insurance info, etc.

CC are NOT the only things being scanned. Any non credit cards w/strips can be scanned for ID theft.

Thank you for directing everyone on how to find the difference. I am not an expert..but when I received my new chip card, I called my credit card company. They were kind enough to explain the difference. My chip card, i believe it called emv requires you to slide card into a reader. The rfid cards are often "fast" cards that you wave close to the terminal, but it does not need to be inserted. I suggest people ask their CC company what they have if they are unsure. This scare tactic the hosts are using is getting out of hand. Anything for a sale, I guess.
