@Desert Lily wrote:@Love my grandkids Italian Capodimonte is junk?? My family owned an import business, and we sold exquisite Capodimonte pieces. Many were very high end, but the small porcelain florals were pretty too.
Collectibles in general have fallen out of favor with today's younger generations. They are much more into collecting experiences, not stuff. Never owned any Capodimonte but I have Lladro, and my kids can do whatever they want with it when I'm gone. It was my mother's and I plan to enjoy it until I'm pushing up daisies.

Nothing ever stays the same....except for the products Q airs on tv.
The world changes. Expectations change. Society changes. Styles change. Fabrics have changed. Most big corporations have questionable standards in countless areas of business. Electronics have changed the world.
It's Q's fault that they haven't kept up and moved into the present with eyes on the future.
Their systems are outdated.
Their marketing plans are amusing at best....menopause, aging, etc.
Host behavior reminds me of teenagers.
Same old, same old product lines and products.
Un-competitive promotion codes/offers.
Un-competitive pricing.
Streaming won't fix anything unless Q makes huge changes to the rest of the product lines, products, variety, pricing, on air behavior, etc etc.

AMEN to that! I used to LOVE shopping on QVC. Always bought my computers & laptops there, as they would work with the manufacturers to have super-great options like light-scribe for CDs/DVDs, several USB ports, hard-wiring for connection, 5-6 easy-pay payments making it affordable to buy computers through them.
Now, I can find NO decent laptop with Intel i3, i5, or i7 processor, & most have only THREE monthly payments, making the payments too high for my budget. Looks like most of their laptops have Windows with S mode which I've learned is very restrictive. And less-than-great processors.
Guess I'm done with QVC, other than for WEN. What a shame, that they've come to this. They were once a great company!

That was then, this is now.
Living in the distant past isn't going to change The QVC Group.
The movement and transformation has begun and is underway.
There is no turning back.

You can't really compare the Q now, and the Q back in the beginning. Two different animals almost. I started around 1987, there was no internet, no smart devices. You went from mall to mall, or shopped at dept stores and downtown venues in your home town. For me, it was 40 miles to mearest mall. Our downtown was small. There was no Costco, Walmart, big box. Mainly small businesses. Merchandise back then cost a bit more, as this was before US did major major business overseas
QVC provided clothes I couldn't get in my area without shopping forever. I could get color, size I needed. The quality was better. Most items back them were made in USA. Shipping was reasonable. It was a huge convenience for many, including me.
over the years with advent of the tech world, internet, overseas factories things became more competitive. Especially with internet shopping. Now we can go anywhere, anytime , anywhere in the world and find anything we want? And it will ALL come to your mailbox
NowQVC struggles with HUGE competition, their items aren't really unique anymore.not their fault, it's all out on the internet. They just can offer sizes, colors, different vendors on your tv and internet, and their dependability. Concidering how big they are, they do ok delivering and stuff. Not as quick as most websites, but in the old days we did wait at least 14 days. 10 working days,( didn't count weekends) I agree, the clothes used to be stellar and more unique, better made. . But now everything everywhere has lost quality, and even high designer labels are made overseas. We see so much on internet now, what is unique, ?? lol. After seeing Halle Berrys met gala dress today, what is unique lol

As I have stated over and over, I do not watch Q on TV, but I do buy, not as much as I once did...but I do. Today reminded why sometimes I prefer QVC. I bought some Moonshine Chocolate fudge a month ago at Q , and a friend loved it. I wanted to buy her some but wasn't sure about how quick it would get there, and the selection was poor at Q. so I went to Moonshine Chocolate online. What a mistake. They had a gazillion flavors, so I got a pound shipped to her. Cost 9.00 more because they charged shipping and Q didn't. This was end of April it was shipped UPS. I get notice, out for delivery last Sunday. Then notice, unforeseen circumstances , can't deliver. Ups just tells me, it's not delivered. Well don't try to call moonshine chocolate, as none of the Extensions answer phone, if you leave message, don't return, call tried this 3x. Then emailed, got an e,
mail back, good news they stated, it was delivered May 5, to a USPS box. My friend checked everything , never delivered. To her anyway. That's it. After another email, got same exact message. Called Amex and just disputed charge. If this was QVC a phone call would have solved it. Refund, or would have sent new product. Took me 4 days, several calls, and a few emails with Moonshine, ....Nothing with that company.

@Kachina624 wrote:Why do people keep coming here bemoaning the loss of the old QVC? Don't they realize times have changed, the economy has changed so have products, styles and people.
We're not going back; nothing again will be like it was in the '80s and '90s. Get over it, adjust, and move on.
@Kachina624 ditto here. Things have changed EVERYWHERE. I mean even customer service at places that was noted for stellar service like Nordies and Neimans. I am 77, and don't like the change, but it isn't going to,change, just get a little worse or I personal. I either have to adapt, or get left behind. Lol

There is a fine line between having fun on air and being obnoxious, tacky, and unprofessional.
Q leaps way over that line. And it's intentional. It's their version of entertainment. I find it just too annoying to watch.
