Put your cursor over the misspelled word and click. Then it will give you options to choose from if you so wish.
Sorry for the duplicate post. I replied before noticing that the OP had already answered your question.

@ChynnaBlue thanks for the additional suggestion. I usually use Firefox. In another forum I frequent it does an automatic spell check and I didn't set up anything special. I'll see if I can find more information on it.

@sarpy, The good news is we have the option to choose font size when we post... the bad news is that the default size is really small and (in my opinion) not as easily read as the default on the old forum platform.
You can choose the overall display size by going into your settings. (Look at the left side of most forum pages and you'll see "My Settings" and "Edit My Preferences, or use the drop-down menu under your name at the top right of each page to find "My Settings.")
Under "Preferences," and then "Display," you can choose a "Text Size." (This isn't the same as the text size we choose when typing a post, by the way.) Be sure to click "SAVE" after making changes in your settings. You always can go back and make other changes.
Also, there are browser-specific and device-specific options to zoom in/zoom out or to modify the size of the display. (Usually found under the browser preferences, toolbar "View" options, or device "Accessibility" features.)
hth!

@smoky22, Firefox preferences are set to the default "Check my spelling as I type." (It's under "Preferences," then "Advanced," then choose the "General" tab to see the option.) And most devices have it as a default in their settings or preferences. That's why you see it taking effect sometimes, maybe even most of the time... but it doesn't work on all websites (including this one). I haven't tried any of the Firefox extensions for automatic spellcheck (just my preference, since I already use so many other extensions and sometimes they don't play nicely with each other
).

Every device I've ever owned has had spell check built into it. You may have to turn it on.

@dooBdoo Thanks. That explains why the automatic spellcheck works for me almost everywhere else but here. I appreciate your response! ![]()
