QVC should leave things as they are!
I would be really disappointed if QVC discontinued any of the long running threads or archived threads that have recipes and other great reference info.... we've already lost enough key info during last June's transfer to the new forum format.

@bebe777 that was a nice response about how you were welcomed into a thread. I have had a similar experience where I just jumped into a thread of folks who have posted together for quite awhile and they were very welcoming. Now if someone has no interest in friendship threads and would rather discuss products, that's ok too, but I see no reason to restrict one or the other. My mantra: why choose between chocolate and peanut butter; be a Reeses!

I really get a chuckle out of posts "suggesting" how an individual poster, or handful of posters, thinks the forums should operate. I've even seen posters (not in this thread) make the same "suggestion" several times because "maybe you (QVC) didn't see it the first time."
No one poster is any more important, or their opinions more important, than any other poster. It's not like QVC comes to the Suggestion area and implements every (or even more than you can count on one hand over the past year) suggestion - which many times is nothing more than desiring to cater a public discussion forum to their particular wants, likes and dislikes.
The forums are a big sandbox. One of the first things we learn in school and life is that somehow, we all have to coexist in the sandbox. Mom or QVC are there as final arbiters. "It's not fair!"
Life's not fair. And it's not All About You. It's about the Greater Community. Learn to hang out in your own corner of the sandbox, and learn to toss a little sand. But don't expect to control the sandbox by some sort of "right" because you know what's best. QVC decides that.

AMEN!!
Makes one wonder why they can't handle it. Hmm. Or the not liking to see people happy on the longtime threads or having lively discussions. More Hmm. Who does it hurt? The mods. do a great job of keeping most of us in check.

Not even specifically referring to this thread, but any thread where a poster wants the forums (or even threads) to be just the way they want them, and they want and even expect QVC to rule according to their preferences.
I chalk it up to Entitlement Syndrome.

I started shopping with QVC many, many years ago and for a long time I was an avid QVC shopper. In the past few years, I've become disilliusioned, and I can't even remember the last time I watched a presentation or bought anything.
So I rarely read any of the forums re QVC products, but I do enjoy several of the other forums and topics. I read those all the time, and I post every now and then too. I've never been made to feel unwelcome anywhere. Certainly there are groups of posters who know each other, and I think that's a nice thing for them. But it doesn't take away from my experience here at all.
I think if people posted about QVC and nothing else, things would be much more quiet. There definitely would not be as many posters as there are, and it would be kind of dull, IMO. I like that there are a wide variety of forums and topics, and I like that people can vent about a problem, seek advice, share joy, etc. If someone is only interested in QVC-related issues, then it's their perogative to only read and post about those. Just as someone who is only interested in sports or tv & movies or anything else. As long as there are topics that are interesting to me, I'm happy. It doesn't impact me in the slightest if other topics are here too. It's nice that there's something for everyyone, and clearly this is the way QVC wants it. They want a busy, lively site, not necessariy all about QVC. And if people end up with some kind of loyalty (to QVC or to the friends they've made here), then all the better! I've never had a problem with anything being too clique-ish here, but if I did I would just scroll on by.
Just as with many things in life, it's best to enjoy what we enjoy, and let others enjoy what they enjoy. Live and let live! It's not as though the things we're not interested in and the things we don't like can't be easily ignored.

There's not a BB on the internet that doesn't have "Groups", "Clicks", whatever you want to call them. People naturally gravitate to others that have like interests. Cyberspace bonding. ![]()
I go through phases of reading only, posting some, or posting a lot and have made several physical friendships from BB's. It's not a bad thing.

Hello,
I post a few times a month on the Shopaholics thread. I am not a Shopaholic but was so glad to stumble on a positive thread with women encouraging each other versus the alternative,

I don't understand the complaint...you can always start a topic that is more interesting fo you and there is no lack of space to do that. You can pass buy topics that don't interest you and they will never realize it so no harm done.I never expect others to please me as that is my responsibility and sure wouldn't want to spoil a harmless pastime for others who are enjoying themselves.
