Hosts frequently quote the price of an item as the amount of one easy pay. When quoting a price please say the entire price and/or the easy pay amount and number. Also, please include the change in the price. If QVC is not concerned with the odd .49, .98, etc. then leave it off the price. If a $49.98 item is quoted at $49 and 5000 are sold, the .98 equates to $4,900. No small change there. Viewed another way, if QVC would honor the $49 quoted price their incime would be less $4,900.

I absolutely agree!  And what about those with impaired hearing or sight?  The price is the price.  NOT the easy pay price.  It's really a underhanded thing to imply that the easy price is the price.

They do, but I don't buy anything without looking at the complete price for the item, the S&H costs, and then adding on my local sales tax before I make my purchase. Consumers need to pay attention and look at the numbers before we spend.

Huge peeve of mine -- I think of those that cannot understand that the price stated is just the first of many payments, not the full price.  The elderly, the hard of hearing, etc.

I contacted customer service about this.  My email was clear (I thought), but the representatives either did not understand or would not understand my point, despite my rephrasing it several times.  I suspect the latter.

This practice is purposeful, as well as sneaky.

Usually I'm on the computer with the TV on at the other end of the room.   When I hear that low-low price......I stumble across the room just to find out it's one "payment"..........

It makes it seem so much more dramatic when they compare the "retail value" to the price of ONE payment!  Also love how they describe $99.96 as WELL below $100.  Really?

I hate this practice.  It is deceptive.  I never order anything without knowing the whole price, but it is amazing the number of people who don't understand that they have to make those payments month after month after month.  Years ago I worked for a large retail chain.  An elderly woman had opened the store credit card and bought a refrigerator.  She made the first payment of $14 and had no idea why she got another bill.  She had paid that!  I tried to explain to her till I was blue in the face, but I just couldn't get through to her.  She really seemed to think she bought that refrigerator for $14.

There are many people who are visually impaired and cannot read the text on the screen to see the actual price.  Just giving the cost of one payment is very deceptive and sneaky.  Not an ethical way to do business.

I have to admit that it's a huge pet peeve of mine. I always know the price of anything before I purchase, but to repeatedly compare the retail price against the e/p price in my book is being deliberately deceptive.

I don't understand what is wrong with saying the item is $100.00 with 4 e/p payments of $25.00. It's not as if they do not have enough time. It seems as if all of the presentations are at least 10 minutes.

I know that it would mean one less story about their children, pets, or vacations, but I do believe that QVC is a shopping channel.

When the host says "Get it home for under twenty dollars," it drives me nuts.  There are actually 3 or 4 easy-pays of $19.98 each, PLUS shipping and tax. How deceptive! And then, if you return the item, you lose the shipping you've paid both ways, so the Q keeps most of the first easy-pay!
