I think he was simply mistaken.   A mod posted and said she saw no signs of it.

One more thought.   Most boards rely on reports, the mods can not possibly read every thread every day.

Hi everyone,

All of our moderators are QVC employees and fully invested in making sure the Community is a welcoming place for everyone.

Hi Amy :-)

I'm not sure if you can answer this, but people who are calling QVC for various reasons have been told on multiple occasions by CS that the moderators are *not* QVC employees. Perhaps some instruction should be given to all of CS not to tell people that forum moderators are not QVC employees, if they actually are. Maybe they could just say it's a different area of QVC and people should email the social team - or have a phone # available for people who are having technical issues. It would eliminate some people's confusion (I'm not puzzled, but it seems many are).

Thanks!

Hi @Moonchilde,  thank you for letting us know.  Times have changed and we need to make sure everyone has the most up to date information about who is moderating.   Smiley Happy

@amy-QVC

I agree with @Moonchilde. Your team needs to communicate with QVC so that accurate information is conveyed to customers. I'm concerned that it appears QVC has been lying to me. In the past few weeks, I have spoken to people in the QVC Office of the President who informed me that the moderators are employees of a third party vendor. I have received emails from QVC customer service reps that state the forum is not moderated by QVC employees. Rather than owning anything that happens here, QVC shifted all responsibility to an unnamed third party vendor. Now you're saying QVC is running the forum? Wow. 😕

Re: ~Posts removed or edited by Q Social Team?~

Whatever the truth about this, (and I'm pretty sure I know what the truth is), it doesn't matter to me. I like the moderation and the hands-on involvement exactly as it is, and who is administering it matters not to me.

If "QVC lied" - it certainly doesn't matter to me. Businesses tell their own truth every single day - every business. I accept that. I'm a realist. I don't count QVC any more or less saintly in that regard than any other business. I've never put them on a "trust pedestal."

QVC is doing what they want to do - for their own interests.
There's a reason some people are being, in effect, stonewalled. A decision has been made. QVC as a company doesn't "owe" forum participants anything. The participants have no "rights" as far as what they want from QVC. I think they are probably pretty comfortable with 50-100 people leaving the forum/leaving QVC. They probably had a very good idea of what would happen when they made the changes, and policies were already in place to deal with it - even (or even especially) corporate.

Re: ~Posts removed or edited by Q Social Team?~

I guess what I don't understand is that even if a company contracts certain aspects of their business out elsewhere, those contractors still have to abide by the company's policy that is employing them and that makes them, in a sense, "employees" of that company. So I wonder if semantics are at play here more than anything else.

I guess I don't understand why it matters? Regardless if they are contracted out or not, they still need to abide by QVC's policies and procedures.

Hi HD! This happens frequently in contracts where there will be a clause deeming that certain persons will be "employees" under the contract. e.g."For the purposes of moderation pursuant to this contract, moderators shall be considered employees of QVC".  (this is an example only - I have no clue whether this was done here or not).
