If there is a post that goes against the standards, the post is removed. We will never edit a post to make the post comply with standards. We will remove the post and explain the reason for the removal with the hope of explaining what is not permitted going forward.
I hope this clears up any confusion about QVC editing forum posts.
That does clear things up.
Although I still don't know what people so want to say that they're so paranoid its being tampered with or removed.
The only conversion of something of mine which I ever saw was some word, when it posted, showed as ******.
Which probably made whatever word I actually may have used sound dirtier than it was. lol
I mean, I don't typically use profanity. Or if I do, I try to obscure it to nearly unrecognizable symbols (along with a series of clicking noises). ![]()
I recall going back to one post of mine and indeed a word had been converted into ****. But I couldn't recall ever typing anything that would need that. Even re-reading the sentence, it didn't seem to make sense. Like I was talking about chocolate pudding and in the middle of it I had to curse? lol
Like I had Typing Tourette Syndrome or something.
I thought it was kind of comical and just chalked it up to some software glitch which confused "fork" for some other word.

It's because folks are seeing this message prior to being able to post:
Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied.
and not understanding its meaning (and/or what HTML refers to).

HI @surfk
I need to check on the setting of this automated feature to see if a word was added that should not have been. A few members have mentioned your same experience.
Thanks for explaining in detail the odd occurrence.

And you will also be explaining the HTML message that occurs?

While I can't actually envision a scenario why any of the employees you've listed would edit the post of a user rather than remove it, you've said that they have the authority to do and can with the proviso that they're clear this has been done. If so, it might be helpful if you gave an example of what might be subject to editing so users can avoid putting themselves in the situation in the first place. Better to know upfront?

Since there is an "inappropriatge button" to click the QVC powers that be are supposed to take note and check this out when it happens.. I suppose if after looking at the comment, they too deem it has inappropriate content they could delete it. I doubt if the company has the time or the interest to go through each comment individually.
I hope there is a final correct answer to this question as it has been discussed so many times before.

As a general policy we (QVC employees) will not edit posts because it creates concern amongst the QVC Community members (we understand no one likes their posts to be edited). Removal of a post is our primary method of addressing a post that is against QVC standards. If, in the rare instance, a post is edited by a QVC member we would make it very clear that this occurred. I do not have an example to provide as it is very unlikely for QVC to edit a post.

So how much do you make?
Every board I've ever modded on was totally volunteer. While I assume that the mods have other jobs here, even that is nothing more than an assumption.
