I wish I had known that QVC changed the default settings for all online purchases to Easy Pay only unless you opt out of Easy Pay by clicking a brand new Edit button that I had never seen before. Some people want to pay over time and some people prefer not to do this. The manner in which a person wishes to pay for an item should be obvious during checkout and not hidden partially from view. You shouldn't have to opt out, but should have the right to choose between the two options for payment in an obvious and clear manner during checkout. I was not prepared for this sudden change during checkout during the Creede Silver event and to be honest, I am not happy about it, as I made the mistake of purchasing some items on Easy Pay when that had not been my intention.
I hope that a further change will be made so the process of checking out is not so non-transparent.

I had to deal with that yesterday when I ordered some Tightline. I didn't do the speed buy thinking I was ok. For the life of me I could not figure out how to change it, couldn't find anything to click on. I knew there was a recent thread here about how to do it so I came here, read it and.....well all I remember after that is going into "my account" and my orders (I think) and finally saw where to switch it to one payment. All I know is that it used to be easier. I was going to give up and let it be but it was bugging me. Once it was done I even got confirmation of the change. I should have written down how I did it step by step for the next time.

I couldn't agree with you more regarding the easy-pay as the default option. I almost used easy pay on 9/30 as I didn't expect the easy pay as the default option.

I don't know how I did it either... I know it wasn't obvious and I really do not remember what I did. I was just going to exit out of my account and clear the browsing history and repurchase it but I was able to somehow change it to one payment. All I remember was it required trial and error on my part.

Just used the new checkout system on Silver Day - I was glad posters had been talking about it because the talk made me work slowly and carefully and I got what I wanted they way I wanted it. Seemed easy to me.
BTW- I used EZP and I almost always do, not because of need -- just figure tt's already been factored into what the item cost and I might as well leave my own money in the bank for a few more months as I pay it down. I used only credit cards, so keeping track is very simple. (I never use debit anywhere - even had my bank remove it from my account.)
I would think the decision of which to make default would depend upon what percentage of their shoppers use it. I can see in this thread that many don't, but since I so often feel as if I'm out of the loop here, I'm guessing that the majority use EZP when it's offered and that's why it's the default option.

It pays to read what you are clicking on. The option is not that difficult. You can go in and pay your charge in full even though it is on easy pay.

@Imaoldhippie What you say is 100% true, but I had not expected the sudden change over. There was no warning, just a huge change that is now the opposite of what it once was. I will now need to go through the hassle of sending a check in to QVC directly to pay for everything in a lump, but their system should be more forgiving and flexible than it is. I do not make online payments.

Are you talking about actually paying your bill? In my prior post I was talking about when you purchase an item choosing if you want your Q-Card bill to come in several easy pay payments or one single full payment. I thought that's what the original poster was referring to as well.

Pay Attention to what you're doing...don't be on automatic when placing orders online with any retailer. It's so easy to make changes on your order here...you can edit your address, send to address, form of payment, Easy Pay or pay in full, change size, color, quantity, etc. all on 1 page before placing your order. Good grief websites change, no need to whine about it...just pay attention & you'll do fine.

I don't like the new checkout page, either, but there are two different places where it clearly states that Easy Pay is being applied and offers big obvious buttons to click to edit that option if you want to change it. One is even right above "Place Order," so it's hard for me to understand why people say they didn't see that an order was on Easy Pay.
