Please Change The Default On...

When I go to insert a link here, the default says 'Open in current page'; I would prefer if the default was the other option-- 'Open in new page'.

A person wouldn't have to use the 'back button' to return to the forum after seeing the link, since the link would open to a new tab/or page.

This is a good idea.  I agree, and I'm for anything that saves a click or two.

Great idea! I always select Open in new page and it takes that much longer for every link I add. At least it's more obvious on these forums than it was on the old ones.

What you could do, instead of just left-clicking on the link, is to right-click on the link and, on the pull-down menu that you'll see at that point, choose 'open in a new window'.  That way it will do just that and you'll still have a window open here.  Smiley Happy

@chickenbutt

I want the mods to change the default in the insert/edit link icon to make the default not open in the original page, but have the link open in a new window/tab. I don't need to do that to the link: what you are mentioning; I want the default to be 'open in a new window/tab. It just one less step to make it a little easier for everyone.

Are you aware that if you just C&P a link into the text of your message or reply that it automatically becomes a hyperlink and opens in a new tab?

If you hover over the above URL you will see that it is a hyperlink.  I just did a C&P.
