When hosts avoid talking about details of the item that is on air, they sound ill prepared for the show in my book. All the stories from their personal life, all the ways to style a garment the viewer knows nothing about are useless. In order to decide if I want to purchase an item, I need to see all the item, and I need information about the item. I also think many of the hosts know nothing about garment construction, so they have to go off on to the personal stories, and tell us how to style garments. Amy is guilty of this in a big way. I'm a grown woman, I can style my own clothes.

Don't expect suggestions to be implemented. As long as the dollars are flowing in, they won't change. That's how big business works now.

Agree. Hosts say 5 times that the product is on EZ pay and the price expires at midnight and X dozen have been purchased while Y dozen are left before they even show us the colors and the details so that we can decide to even buy it! Amy is the worst at this. You wouldn't need to push the hard sell if you would just tell us about the product so we can make a decision to buy.

I have learned there are some hosts that it's useless to watch doing handbag shows. Amy Stran is one of them. Amy rushes to style the bag, as if we even want her input on style! Then she has to interrupt the vendor to show colors every 10 seconds. I wait until I can watch the video and skip over Amy. I don't worry about a bag selling out, you can always find them with free shipping, and often cheaper on other sites. Dooney even has easy pay on some bags on their web site.

Q says they want suggestions. They don't, really. They will do what they want, how they want, and when they want to do it as long as the dollars are going in. They won't listen to people on these forums unless the suggestion will make them tons more money. This is how big business works in today's economic environment.
A million people might like your suggestion. At the same time, another million won't like it. It is what it is. And it all goes back to the almighty dollar and if Q can make more money by adopting a suggestion.
It still doesn't mean Q cares. To think otherwise is, IMHO, a lack of understanding of how big business works today.

@KathyPet wrote:YOu may thank Jayne Brown for QVC failure to give sizing information on clothing. SHe decided that it wasn't needed and talked the PTB into dropping the information during presentations. SHe was very proud of that and mentioned it every chance she got. Well all,I can say is that because of that decision I buy very, very few clothing items from QVC anymore. I am not going to boot up my computer to check sizing information on line so I cannot tell you how many sales they have not gotten from me.
Jayne is saying what she was told to say. She represents Q and is requred to make something sounds wonderful even if it isn't.
If you don't want to use your computer or laptop or tablet to check for details, then it's on you if you miss out. I agree, these things should be stated at the beginning of a presentation, but big business rules these days. They don't listen unless it affects their bank account.
No offense to anyone.... I think everyone needs to spend a few years working for a huge corporation. Then you'll see what big business is really about. I spent 39 years with a Fortune 500 company that employs 20,000 around the world with half of these in the US. You would be shocked at what these companies do for a dollar, no matter who it hurts.
