Re: My Humble Opinion on QVC

There is a very unflattering video on YouTube of Shawn sitting cross legged on a couch scratching herself in an area that is unfortunate. I do feel bad this video is uploaded. I would die.

Again my opinion  They should have remained as a SHOPPING  channel not a talk show. Way too much   private information is given out.   Imagine being in Macy's and the clerk starts talking about menopause or her husband's private parts.  Personally I think Shawn and Mally should have been fired long ago.   None of the other hosts discuss body parts or functions.

Not true, just this morning, Jayne Brown mentioned to Harry Slatkin that she has stomach trouble and the scented sprays come in handy for her in the bathroom.

I didn't know that, I didn't need to know that, but it doesn't bother me that she disclosed that.

You're bar is set very low. I don't nerd to know about her stomach issues. Gross.

Re: My Humble Opinion on QVC

The times have changed. Women speak more openly about a lot of things. I don't mind the menopause talk, and all the other talk about things that are probably best left out. I am old but I don't care. What I don't like is the rudeness from certain hosts. The rapid fire talk, and bossiness directed at vendors.

I buy at the Q because I can see what the product is and make an informed decision. Okay so it isn't always perfect, but much better than buying on line with a ton of guesses.

I also don't mind Shawns crazy world, and Mally. I think they are both kind people and that is enough for me. Obviously the Q would have removed them if they didn't sell.

Re: My Humble Opinion on QVC

I watched the start of Menopause Monday this week.  Shawn opened with some spiel and was saying something to the affect that they were improving lives,

"ONE Vxxxxx  AT A TIME."

Was that really necessary?  Women are much more than Vxxxxxs.

I find the whole Menopause Monday insulting.  And, yes, I changed the channel because I just can't watch her, or Mally.

Shawn never used to bother me as a host.  But she has gotten so much worse.  Plus I keep reading about how people point out her touching her nose constantly, ordering items while on air (so disrespectful to customers), putting her feet on a table near food, and licking someone else's glasses to clean them on air (that one really grosses me out).

I have to think that some of the other, older, more seasoned hosts think that Shawn's behaviour on air is unacceptable.

@Nancy Drew I saw that too.  That could be AI.  Or not, knowing how Shawn is.  Hard to tell.  If shawn had not started this type of behaviour herself, she would not be picked on this way. But now is seems there is no end to Shawn bashing.

when they do talk about body parts, they are selling product!!

no different when they sell bras.  how can sell if they talk about breast size??

does that make you uncomfortable?

people have a lot of different issues and i for one am glad they talk about it.  bring it out of the 'dark and scary' and make it approachable!

Overwintering insects and other creatures are still emerging in your garden, delay spring cleanup until temperatures consistently reach 50°F at night for at least a week!!!

give nature a chance!!!!!!

When Shawn decided to tell everyone about her hemorrhoids...they were not selling any such products. There are professional ways to discuss or educate customers on body functions/menopause. JMO

@ellaphant  Agree.  If their intention has been to get rid of old timers like me, they have succeeded.

Re: My Humble Opinion on QVC

When QVC decided that this channel should be for entertainment instead of shopping, they lost their way. Apparently, management wants the hosts to go down this road of disgusting behavior.

Shawn's habit of wiping her nose with her hand is not usual behavior for a 50+ year old. She then puts her hand in her pocket. It is a distraction. Mally has always been crass. She has no filter and her behavior is encouraged.

Then they are puzzled why customers are turning away and not buying. Free shipping, discounts and other incentives are not bringing customers back that have walked away.. That ship has sailed. Don't know why or when management thought circus performers would be an asset to a shopping channel offering merchandise for everyone.

Re: My Humble Opinion on QVC

I haven't read all the comments, but enough to know others agree - QVC is nothing like it used to be.  I used to enjoy watching it a LOT after I retired.  Now I barely turn it on once a day... and then quickly OFF.
