Re: Must change your video format on the website!

So what's the answer? I thought we needed Adobe Flash to view videos on all sites?

If it's unsafe is there a safe substitute?

Re: Must change your video format on the website!

You have version 21,0,0,216 installed

That is the version of Flash I got. I'm not doing nothing different. I got the latest version and that's all your suppose to do is just make sure you have the up to date/current one.

Update your antivirus, malware and spyware. All U can do.

go to the link she sent and follow instructions what I did. How I know I have the latest version of Flash.

She's actually speaking the truth.  You don't need to delete it, but it's a good idea to update it.

She may be right, but the urgent scare tactics could have been handled better.  If you have proof of something always include a link to back it up.

Re: Must change your video format on the website!

I read the Krebs on Security blog and he's always giving heads up when there's an Adobe Flash Player update (and it seems like there's always a new one to plug security holes).

What I do is when I'm using Internet Explorer is to disable the flash player and only use it when I want to. To disable the Adobe Flash Player, click on Tools, scroll down to Manage add-ons and click on it, then a window will open. Look for Shockwave Flash object in the toolbars and extensions. If you don't see it under currently loaded add ons, scroll the currently loaded add ons until you see All add-ons and find it. You can highlight the Shockwave Flash Object and then disable it and then close the window. You can also re-enable it by doing the same procedure and enabling it when you want to.

I generally watch online videoclips like QVC's on my ipad with the Safari browser (no Adobe flash player is on the ipad) or I use the QVC ipad app.

Just an FYI as the QVC app in the Apple app store is geoblocked to anyone outside of the U.S. so you need to set up a U.S. Apple store account in order to download the QVC app even though it's a free app.
