Moissanite.

I reviewed the selection of Moissanite rings. Every single ring in the inventory is an engagement ring. QVC has millions of viewers who are single women or married women who already have wedding sets and don't need another. There's limited demand for engagement rings.

How about some right hand rings? I'd especially like to see some contemporary designs.

@Kachina624There used to be a store in the upscale mall near my condo that carried a huge collection of Moissanite and now that you made your observation I'm realizing that not only did I not like their stones, they were virtually all engagement/wedding oriented.

I've never seen Moissanite in person elsewhere but everything that shop sold had a yellow-greenish cast. Is that usual? It was a turn-off for me - and that's too bad. I was still buying jewelry in those days and the prices in the 2 and 3 thousand dollar range for large stone presence were definitely less than similarly-sized diamonds I love but wouldn't pay for.

@millieshops. There are different qualities of Moissanite, and the lower quality stone can have that yellow cast to them. All of QVC's seem to be set in 14kt so they are presumably are the better quality. If you get a yellowish stone, send it back.

Check out moissanitecodotcom. I've purchased several things from them. Quality is superb. Customer service is outstanding! And they'll make something in rose gold even if not offered online.

I hope Q will expand its moissanite line into leverback earrings and right-hand rings. I'd love to see some rose gold too!

I have moissanite going back almost 20 years. None of mine has a yellow or green tint.

There are several grades of moissanite. The lowest is usually offered in sterling silver but I've seen it in gold on occasion too. Most grades do not have any tint to them. You'll find the low grade on JTV, WalMart, and some places.

My favorite places to buy are Evine or MoissaniteCodotcom. They identify the grades. However, I prefer rose gold or yellow gold and Evine carries very little of them. Moissaniteco has outstanding cusotmer service, products, and will even make something in rose gold if I want.

@Kachina624Thanks. I just knew there had to be better stones than those I saw. No reason anyone should have been paying so much for them even though they were also set in 14k.

That business died in the 2008 recession. No surprise to me!
