I would like to see the IGNORE POSTER option brought back. Perhaps this would deter the trolls and negative posters who will eventually see they are not getting the attention they seek.
I do not want to see an entire thread deleted due to a few obnoxious posters. IMO this is not the way to resolve a problem. Moderators should identify and deal with problems on an individual basis.

Pay close attention to the way a person goes back to edit a post to add/remove baiting comments.
Notice how a person literally asks others to explain themselves then gets all upset because they did so. People get accused of arguing with the OP or stalking the OP, but in all actuality the OP called them out and asked them questions. Then OP gets flustered because he/she must have the last word.
Notice how a person uses words or images then gets upset by saying he/she never used them. People get accused of making things up, yet it's all right there on the screen.
Notice how a person starts a thread then becomes distressed when others disagree. Notice the comments about wanting the thread removed/closed or wanting to put all dissenters on ignore simply because they had a differing opinion and are now considered annoying.
Notice how some of those happy cheerleaders have a dark side.
You nailed it right down to the " stalking" issue. There are some that practice every one of your observations on a daily basis.

I doubt having a degree in psychology is a job requirement to be a mod of this board. The mods probably have a pretty good idea about all of us after reading here for any length of time.

Nobody said anything about a degree in psychology.

I don't believe that to be true Tansy, otherwise some would not be allowed to post anymore.........

I have observed a trend that will surely increase - it has certainly increased in the last 48 hrs. A poster will start a thread that is completely within QVC guidelines, intended to be so. Most posters keep it within those guidelines.
Then posters come along who, either because they disagree with others, are literally incapable of posting without being offensive or controversial, or *choose* to be offensive or controversial - ruin the thread for the OP and everyone else who was enjoying it.
Due to the guidelines the moderators have to follow, anyone who wants to, or several 'anyones' can purposely get a thread deleted by these tactics. The OP and the original participants did nothing wrong and yet their threads are able to be trashed deliberately simply by the injecting of posts the posters are making for that express purpose. That does not seem right - that those who follow the rules are able to be victimized and controlled (and in a way controlling the moderators too) by those who flaunt the rules.
I would rather see, on the whole, POSTS and/or POSTERS deleted than a thread deleted. If a thread has 50 posts and 30 of them should be deleted, then delete them - without deleting the thread.
If many threads are deleted or closed to posting (a better option) then the inappropriate posters still control the forums - something the Social Team has been working hard to prevent.
However it's done behind the scenes, I wish the moderators would discuss/come up with internal rules regarding how many very deliberately inappropriate posts a poster is allowed before they are warned, and how many after that before they are banned for knowingly continually posting inappropriately. I don't need or want details, but I really hope it's something the Social Team and the Moderators are thinking about - otherwise all of those who play by the rules, as well as the Moderators themselves, will still be manipulated by the deliberate rule-breakers.
Back on topic..
moonchilde, I think they are getting better and it seems like they are trying to improve the situation as well as being better at noticing and identifying those that continually display troll or other disruptive behaviours. I just hope it continues to improve and that after awhile, it slowly doesn't regress back to the way things were.

That's true Sydney, I have noticed those that run from thread to thread telling everyone how they should and should not post are having their posts and threads deleted. It is refreshing to see the moderation include everyone and exclude noone.

I agree. I think the ignore feature, which allowed us to basically moderate our own experience, would eliminate a lot of this stuff. If they'd asked me, I'd have said software that didn't allow you to Ignore someone would be a deal breaker, keep looking. But they didn't ask us.

I completely agree. There are a couple of posters who seem consistently negative that I'd prefer to ignore and I'm sure the reverse is true. How about it, dear Mod Squad? Any chance of the return of the ignore button?

The mods have already spoken on the ignore button feature in the thread dedicated to it but now removed/closed. They said they will take it into consideration.
