Oh, I would disagree that they don't get what was wrong. Everyone gets what's wrong; some just pretend not to so they can challenge "innocently."

I really don't care, or have a problem with, what people write.  If I don't like it, I don't read it and move on.

I so agree.  Posters know that they are either walking a very thin line or have crossed over the line when they start a thread.  Then they pretend not to understand what they did wrong.

How is your post any different from those you are "complaining" about?

Not sure who "you" is, but ???

I'm not "complaining" about posts that contain subject matter I don't like. I'm speaking of deliberately, with purpose, challenging moderators directly, for the purpose of challenging - which is, *up front*, clearly against standards. I see people have been at it again this morning before I got up, and threads have been closed. Clearly, posters are now pushing things to the point of challenging QVC to see if they get blocked. Beyond childish, but I suppose they see themselves as brave revolutionaries and anarchists. Oy.

@Moonchilde,  Thanks for this interesting thread. As most of us know, the kinds of activity you describe are prohibited by the standards to which we agree when we sign up to post here.    Prior to the launch of the new platform, the moderators enforced this much more than they do now, in my experience.

We used to see posters banned temporarily or permanently for repeated re-posting of a topic or other repeated violations.   Now, not so much, from what I see when I'm here.   I think that's why we see so much of this.    (I realize not everyone has the same experience or observations.)    We're presumed to be adults and know how to be respectful of one another and of the policies we agreed to, but unfortunately when there aren't any negative consequences for negative actions, even adults will break the rules if they see/feel no repercussions.  (As a side note, I see posters occasionally say we're being treated like children, yet not stepping back, getting an objective perspective, and observing that if it's so it's because we're acting in a childish manner.)

I try so hard not to be cynical, but these days it's getting more and more difficult.

There are regular posters who indeed are very clever. One thing that really gets to me is how often some repeat offenders get away with the baiting, yet if someone responds in the same vein, that is the post that usually gets deleted, the original bait left in place, as though it is okay.

For the record, when one of my posts gets deleted, I never whine and complain. It's just a post on a chat board, for heaven's sake,

I see those patterns, too, @FLgardener.   Gets a wee bit frustrating, doesn't it.    I don't know if people do it deliberately or if they truly have no self-awareness and can't see their own patterns.   We humans are a complicated bunch.

I'm with you...  I don't complain about my deleted posts.   To me, this isn't the place to expect our "words of wisdom" (said with a wink and a smile!) to remain here in perpetuity.   A post is like a leaf tossed out into the breeze, to take flight or to drop to the ground and disappear.   Posts are ephemeral, and although I'm not always successful  I try to move forward.

ITA, @dooBdoo.

I'd made a long, thoughtful reply touching on several of your comments, and lost my internet for about half an hour so it went poof. I'm sure several posters will be thrilled ;-)

In short, yes, if people are treated like children it's usually because they act like children. The repeated, aggressive, name-calling threads started to taunt moderators come to mind. If you behave like a foot-stomping 5-year-old, why be surprised when mom& dad treat you like one - and assume such behavior will continue.

I have come to believe that for GOK what reason, QVC corporate is tying the hands of the moderators. I can't believe that the moderators don't want to time-out or ban egregious repeat offenders, or continue to waste their time on them. I could say more, but to no point, I think. As I've said in another thread, I think the moderators' hands are tied.

@Junebug54   I agree.  It's yet another thread about the removal of threads and it is  "challenging" the mods' actions for "not doing enough."
