IN general, I agree. But I think there are some mods here that are way off base relative to the majority of them. They are not all on the same page, and that is unfair to posters who get 'spanked' when others get away with the exact same behavior or topics.

I think they maybe need some retraining or some guidelines that get all mods more on the same wavelength.

You are so correct. I "get spanked" for saying the exact same things others get away with. It does not bother me to get "time out" I just wish it were for the right reasons not just a moderator or a few posters that think everything I say is "inappropriate"

There are threads on here right now with comments much much worse than anything I say yet they are still there. I think when anyone is reported for any reason it should be determined by more than one moderator whether to poof and give "time out" Don't let one person decide you whether a poster is inappropriate or not.

I will get reported for this I am sure. I will also get a lot of negative feedback I am sure.

@happygolfcartrider

I thought I once read that it does take a consensus of the Mods to give a "time out."  I could be misremembering though.   You could ask in the Customer Care forum if you really want to be sure.

@Pearlee  I would probably get "time out" for asking...Smiley Very Happy

Why? Why? Why?

Doesn't that sound like a 5-year-old who constantly asks why?

Here are my suggestions for the "why-ners":

1) Get over yourself.  You're not that important.

2) Remember where you are.  This place is not that important.

3) If you really, really need to know why, IMO it is easy enough to email the Social Team for explanation.....rather than making a public spectacle here.

As far as the hollering about the lack of consistency between the moderators...... one can't expect different people to reach exactly the same conclusions about posts and threads.  Give it up.  You're not that important. They are doing a job.

I'd made a long, thoughtful reply touching on several of your comments, and lost my internet for about half an hour so it went poof. I'm sure several posters will be thrilled ;-)

In short, yes, if people are treated like children it's usually because they act like children. The repeated, aggressive, name-calling threads started to taunt moderators come to mind. If you behave like a foot-stomping 5-year-old, why be surprised when mom& dad treat you like one - and assume such behavior will continue.

I have come to believe that for GOK what reason, QVC corporate is tying the hands of the moderators. I can't believe that the moderators don't want to time-out or ban egregious repeat offenders, or continue to waste their time on them. I could say more, but to no point, I think. As I've said in another thread, I think the moderators' hands are tied.

Oh, they definitely give 'time outs' to repeat offenders.

I know they have in the past, under the old forum moderation, but I sure haven't seen it in the past 9 months or so except for once - and that person now continues on as before, aiming for #2 time out I guess. I hope they make it 😈

Of course, if someone IS given a time out, all they have to do is sign on as a new customer and problem solved - but I'm sure no one ever does that...

Re: Make *Repeatedly* Challenging Moderation -

Hi Moonchilde, et al.     The re-starting of conversations that were deleted is - well, everything you said.

Clearly, it's prohibited and, also clearly, people keep doing it anyway and getting away with it.

I think what is frustrating for me is that if you aren't in on the code you answer innocently to the 'question' asked and find out later that you were duped into involving yourself in a passive-aggressive rehashing.

Well, one good thing is that the internet is a really big place and I find that, sometimes, when I just want to converse with grown-ups or have an intellectual conversation, I have boards to which I've belonged for many years and none of this stuff has ever happened at any other board to which I have EVER belonged.

I like it here sometimes because there are quite a few people I've gotten to really like over the 12+ years I've been here.  Smiley Happy  Otherwise, especially if I want to play with others who all play by the same rules, I go elsewhere.

Here, even if you try and help somebody to know basic rules of etiquette you just get the finger by some.  It's like 'I don't care about common courtesy or manners - I'll do whatever I want'.   Sounds like a petulant child, no?  Smiley Wink
