Re: Make QVC2 a 6-Month Christmas Channel

Q is a 6 month Christmas shopping network.  They'll have Christmas on a lot now.  If you like it, enjoy.  As for me, I hate Christmas shows and never watch them.

Re: Make QVC2 a 6-Month Christmas Channel

I've already seen Christmas & Halloween in stores. I was in Dollar General today, thinking as soon as July 4th is over, school supplies will be out.

*I wish stores would wait til after Sept. (at least) for fall/Christmas decorations.

I LOVE Christmas in July because that's when I start my gift shopping.  I know many others do as well.  It's especially great for those who need to budget their money.

I don't have a preference for which channel airs the Christmas products, however, I want it to be LIVE.  I don't watch pre-recorded programs as the offers don't always apply.

I'm aware there are those who do not enjoy the CIJ or Christmas shows in general, but again, there are those who need to shop and do it early.  It's no different than those who don't enjoy the beauty, fashion or whatever other products are being shown.  You either endure it or watch something else.  I don't feel it's right to express displeasure at ANY show as we all have different wants, needs, desires and there are shows to suit everyone's taste.  Why should anyone be denied?

Not everyone has access to QVC2, that would be unfair to those who like to watch the Christmas presentations.

I have an idea that l think will cater to ALL QVC viewers.

Instead of Christmas in July, and six months of off-and-on Christmas programming, why not make Q2 an all-Christmas channel, from June 25 thru post-Christmas clearance.

That way, those of us who enjoy this programming can watch whenever we want, and those who want to enjoy summer-- and not think about winter when it's 100 degrees outside--  can start shopping for Christmas when we're ready, in the fall.

But it doesn't.

QVC UK already does this. They have a separate channel that is all Christmas the last three months of year.

QVC America wouldn't brand QVC 2 as a single category. They are striving to have a variety of programming on QVC and QVC2 such that there's a different category of merchandise on one channel from the other.

Re: Make QVC2 a 6-Month Christmas Channel

Agree with you @TX-starlight....couldn't we just wait for the holiday season in November and December? Selling Christmas items in July was an idea for retail outlets to increase their sales mid-year. I try to buy a few gifts for family/friends throughout the year so that I don't have to buy everything in one or two months. But what's really being sold during CIJ are not so much gift ideas, they are more decorating ideas....Christmas trees, wreaths, swags, candles, knick knacks. The online outlets have won. Get ready for the Holidays and buy now in July before everything sells out because everyone will need more decorating ideas in 5 months! No thanks - I don't watch and I don't buy.

I enjoy summer and watch Christmas programming.  Or at least I hope to this weekend.

Well, this company is a conglomerate now. They can have a channel for everything. We can all have our likes and just think it's the best company in the world. I'm sure there are those who would love 6 months of mattresses.
