You won't find many long coats in stores.
I bought a spring/fall maxi-coat from L.L. Bean (LOVE IT) and a wool long coat from Jessica London.
I want a barrier from rain and snow!

I agree with wanting to see longer coats. Not all of us want to be hip and trendy with these short jackets and coats. There are many of uf who live for months and months in the cold winter areas of the United States and want long coats that cover out backside!! We also would appreciate coats that have a warm lining and hoods that are detachable!! It is difficult to often impossible to find a long, warm coat in plus sizes in a store.

I purchased two long coats from Chadwicks of Boston about 10 years ago, part wool, and even though the full-length coats aren't in style anymore, I wear one several times during the winter here in the Midwest. These are about ankle-length and I wouldn't part with them for anything, in style or not.
Since they were purchased before hoods on coats became so popular, I just wear a slouchy stocking cap and a nice scarf and I'm warm as toast.
