I feel the same way. Too much kissy face. Makes me think of Frenchmen getting ready for a duel.

I'm not a fan of it, either ... I've seen times when a host was ill, yet they still kissed.. they could have told the vendor rep off air , that they were skipping the kiss. One time I saw a host barely greet a long time vendor rep (jill ---> holly? i think her name is - for travelon) - then, for the next item - she booked it over to the next rep (cant remember who) - and she just gushed over her . I felt bad for holly . A funny one I saw, one time - was the male vendor for the air innovations/ and vacs - you know, the guy with the blue shirt - and the cue cards - greeted jill with a big smooch - and man was she taken aback - she was not expecting that .

I think they are kissing more, just because it bothers some.
If they all come down with colds, we'll know there is too much smooching going on.

Did someone tell you that?
They aren't pretending to be from Europe! Air kissing has been a popular greeting for quite some time, and the purpose is to avoid getting lip gloss, etc. on the person being kissed. The act may appear silly to some, but it avoids smearing makeup on someone else.

...and what does that sound mean: mmmmmmwah?

A nice, good old-fashioned hand shake is good enough for me! And even then, I'd sanitize my hands when off-air.

Nobody has to tell me what I can see with my own eyes. I realize that there's a lot of air kissing when certain hosts meet some of the vendors but it still seems fake to me. Especially when certain hosts seem to get sick a lot and they pass on their germs to other vendors and hosts.

It is a phony waste of time. I just figured it was an east coast thing because I can't imagine a Midwesterner kissing every vendor. Jeanne Bice was from my home state and I can't recall what she did - seems like she would have given hugs.

I'd give you 10 hearts if I could. I said this a long time ago, a hand shake is much more professional. And yes, a hand shake is enough to pass germs on, let alone that fake kisssing ![]()
