I wish that the powers that be at QVC would implement a new policy that would allow the hosts to acknowledge any kind of mishap that occurs due to an illness or otherwise. I have frequently witnessed hosts who either have a coughing fit, get choked up, or leave set to have to deal with an issue, and they always seem to “push through” the issue rather than simply acknowledge it and taking a moment to resolve the issue. We viewers aren’t dumb or blind. We can see that something is going on, and it is uncomfortable to watch a host or vendor struggling. I would rather them take a moment, say “excuse me, I need to grab a glass of water,” then continue their job. We know they’re human, so it’s not going to turn us off or cause us not to order something.

I haven't seen any of these incidents, but I don't mind if they go to commercial while the host gets a drink,  etc.   Maybe they don't feel comfortable going into detail about feeling sick or whatever it is.  I tell you, it's a case of danged if they do & danged if they don't. I've read posters complain here ad nauseum regarding hosts divulging too much about themselves & now compaints of them not saying enough. They can't win!

I have seen hosts cough, tear up, or have to leave the set.

I think it's up to the host to determine if they need to leave or won't be able to continue with the presentation.  I don't think it's QVC's policy to force a host to stay on the air while they're coughin or not feeling well.

@KKJ  I agree, I don’t need every detail of their condition, and I don’t like with they go off on personal tangents, but it’s painful to watch them coughing or choking. I think most people like to put on a brave face when they’re ill, but sometimes you just need to excuse yourself to grab some water or hack up whatever is clogging your throat.

I don't think it's too much to ask for.  A short, "thanks for your concern, I'm fine, etc."  It was obvious from reading the online chat that viewers were distressed.

I have a suspicion it is a medical emergency with Antonella, she has rushed off the set other times.  Basically, its none of our business.

What happened on the noon Fall Decorating show?  I tuned in around 12:25 and the vendor was presenting a set of 3 Desert Steel mini gourds.  She was cut off and several minutes of promos were aired, one after another.  When the show resumed, Antonella seemed shaken.  She kept touch her hair and moving her bangs off her forehead.  They brought back the interrupted vendor eventually and Antonella seemed to apologize to her. Does anyone know what happened?

Good grief, just because they're an on air host, doesn't mean that every little thing that may affect them on air like a cough, etc., needs to be announced or excused or is anyone's business but their own.

Just because we watch them, doesn't mean that we're entitled to know every little thing that affects them.

@KingstonsMom  You have a terrible habit of twisting people’s words and blowing things out of proportion. The post was about the hosts being able to grab a glass of water instead of choking their way through a presentation, because it’s more distracting to watch them hack up their lungs or have trouble speaking rather than them grabbing some water. No one said anything about needing to know every little detail that effects them. Grow up.

@MaryLamb

LOL! You havn't been here long enough to have any idea what my "terrible habits are",  maybe you need to "grow up".
