You may be assured that my expectations are not high that the 'one time hit and runners' will cease.

Not trying to put you down, OP. I know you and others still miss the ignore feature, but things have calmed waaaaay down on this forum now.
Not trying to put you down, NCB, but in some areas the mean continues. I'm guessing you are aware that the digs are ongoing. Perhaps if they appeared closer to home you might feel differently about having the 'ignore' option.
I can't understand why those who DON'T want it care if it becomes an option, after all one does NOT have to use it if it were it available. So what's the issue with having it.
Those who have a problem are those who DO want it and DON't have it the option.
Hello, Drythe.
Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of some of these grumpy people.
Of course the ignore feature was important and it would be great if it were brought back. But one of the moderators did say that there's just no plans for it, not even for next year. I'm guessing maybe it's just not possible for this board to have an ignore feature added right now. Maybe because of the forum update? Not sure.
I'm not saying that I don't want an ignore feature to be added. I just figured that it might be best not to get any hopes up too high if one isn't going to be added.
@NC Bandwagon It's not always the "mean" people we wish to ignore.
We might want to ignore the ones we know who post consistently negative opinions. I could list a few of those, but I won't.
So I'm with @Drythe when she says she doesn't understand why those who don't want the feature just don't use it. And I believe we all know how to adjust our hopes. Surely you didn't mean that we don't know how.

Add me to the 'disappointed' list on this subject.
Also, as mentioned, it was not compulsory. It was just another feature that you could use or not use. I have a few reasons for which I liked having it and used it. There are tons of features that can be used or not used at all.
Heck, the first day of this new board, when I was figuring things out I went through settings and unchecked all kinds of stuff. One of the things I liked that they added was the ability to NOT see the sig-lines.
I'm getting better at just speeding past the stuff like people who never have anything nice to say about anything or anybody, the ginormous all-bolded (screaming) posts, and a few other things that assault my head and my eyeballs. hehe - Self-preservation. ![]()
I kind of miss that there isn't the spell-correct thing unless you click on something every time you post. I'm good with spelling but I find that I make a lot more typos now than I used to. Oh well. I can handle it. If it were between that and 'ignore', I'd vote for 'ignore' in a New York minute!

Hi, Homegirl.
(sorry, didn't want to start a long comment train
)
I didn't mean that people don't know how to adjust their hopes. I just meant that the ignore feature isn't coming back any time soon. At least, I don't think it is. So I guess we'll just have to learn to live without it, for now anyway. There may just be no way for this board or the moderators to implement it right now.
I forget who posted this, but someone once posted that sometimes with software you can't go back and that it would be like trying to downgrade from windows 10 to windows 3. Just can't be done.

I think I only used the Ignore feature twice on the old boards. I used it so that I wouldn't see the nasty, baiting comments that were directed at me by certain posters, specifically so I would not be tempted to respond, and their attempts would fall flat. That's pretty much what you had to do then, because the moderation was such that clearly rude, baiting posts were usually/often not removed.
Now that most of the clearly nasty posts with nasty intent ARE being deleted, it doesn't bother me that we don't have Ignore. Much of the time such posts are now removed. And the attempts at nasty-baiting have gone down vastly in class and cleverness so that my initial reaction is usually just to laugh and SMH.

Usually, I find, those who attack others are those with >3000 posts. Why do you think that is?
I log in to read reviews and to find out about current topics--not to be negative to unsuspecting posters. I would love to see the IGNORE function reinstated.
