Re: Hosts lying about sizing

[ Edited ]

just don't get it, why would anyone rely on on looking at someone on tv for sizing? First of all, tv adds 10 lbs . Another thing, unless they give you their height, measurements and weight, it's hard to guess sizes of hosts to oneself.   Unless you know the hosts personally, have seen them in person. A few things to take into consideration,

distribution of host or models weight.
TV adding weight.  Host appear larger

camera angle distortion

q sizes run a size

i have three granddaughters who went out shopping, they are all different heights and weights, yet they all fit into this one pair of pants. They said it was just like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.  No kidding. lol! I would
go by the measurements.  But Q sizes run odd. I hadn't ordered any clothes from Q for maybe 6 years.  I just ordered pants, a Dennis Basso pant.  They are printed, Mary Beth wore them for her retirement exit on QVC?  I wear medium.  I went by measurements.  I ordered PM.  Well they were so huge, I,asked for  refund as small would be too big. The petite was on floor over 2 inch.  waist hit my hips.  Had to be  miss marked, or run REALLY  large. Nice pants though

Re: Hosts lying about sizing

@shoekitty  I could be wrong about this but I think that tv used to make people look heavier but since hi-def tv I don't think that's the case anymore.  There are two newscasters where I live that attend the same church as I do and they look the on tv as in life.

Re: Hosts lying about sizing

@Junebug54 . Idk about the newscasters, but my grand and other family are in film industry. It still does add pounds, anyway. Even on the screen. If you think some actresses are thin on film, see them in person omg.  I can name a few but won't.  With Some TV, like QVC, the camera angles are adjusted more for product.  Ever looked at a ring on tv, got it and said, WHERES THE STONE?   lol. It may not be as much, but there is no vanity filters like they use in more upscale productions. And remember, QVC sizing is larger as well. Someone who says they wear xs on TV, probably wear small to medium in real stores. JMO.
