Re: Hosts Please Let Vendors Talk

I have to turn QVC off when Ric (Crazy Eddie) comes on. Too loud, hyper annoying and now studering because he is trying to talk so fast. Jane Tracy as well so loud she ruins David's shows when she sceams HONEY fifty times. Not cute. I save money when these two are on because I change the channel.

In Amy's defense, there are people in her ear telling her this.  Im positive this is required to make people buy fast. It's called sales tactics.   Sometimes Isaac has to get interrupted because he can go off in a tangent just like Susan Fravee.   I've seen Jane Brown do it with Gary G.  I've seen Mary do it and in fact most hosts do it.

Re: Hosts Please Let Vendors Talk

Alberti filmed that Gordon Ramsey show and talked to some of the people on the show about what it's like being a QVC host.  One specific question he answered concerned the most important aspect of hosting the shows.  Alberti said, "for me, time."

He said it's absolutely crucial for him to keep track of the time in each presentation.  He has sales jargon he has to say, item specifics, and responding to what the producer/director is saying in his ear.  All that, and he has to let the vendor talk and somehow mesh all that into the time he's given for each product.  The host is the one responsible for all that.

Some hosts do it better than others, for sure.  If hosts could keep personal run-on stories at bay, they may be able to let the vendor contribute important details for the shopper more.  But I do understand how difficult it can be for the hosts not to jump in and take over sometimes.

Cannot watch Kerstin & Alberti together.  Too many hosts talk about their personal lives instead of the product. I am not interested.

Re: Hosts Please Let Vendors Talk

I was a bit irritated at the host who talked over & interrupted Kim G. in her Saturday night show. I thought Kim looked a bit irritated at the host a couple of times.

Re: Hosts Please Let Vendors Talk

Did you see the Sunday night Susan Graver show?   It was a train wreck!   I know that Susan is a talker and the host must learn to work around yet with her,   But Rachel talked non stop about personal stuff and when / where to wear the clothes.   It was like watching a Ping Pong match with non stop play by play!!!    It was physically painful to watch.   A human echo chamber.

Watched the AM show (this Am) w/SG and Rachael. Both talking at the same time. Hard to follow and understand.

And not only not letting the Vendors talk....

I saw Kristen and Alberti vie for attention as each one talked and the other tried to one-up the other.  Alberti was in the middle of describing and Kristen kept saying loudly, "tell them there are two, tell them there are two, tell them there are two...." which Alberti did not!

I'm sorry, this loud, obnoxious behavior makes me turn to any other channel.  So much for Sat. Morning at the Q.... at least for me.

They should respect each other and take turns presenting the items.   Instead. it is a race and fight for camera time.    Avoid the running up to the camera to get a face shot with the product.   Stop competing for who knows the vendor more.   The hugs on air are so phony as we all know that they have spoken in preparation for the show.

Rachel Boesing is one of the Worst interrupters, she even has to put her two sense in when it's not even her presentation

Re: Hosts Please Let Vendors Talk

I give "hearts" to all your replies. The Q is now unwatchable and annoying. I watch on occasion only and on mute. Sometimes I'm waiting for a close up shot and there isn't one. Forget colors. They have no clue. Why all the laughing? Too much.
