Deal with it or don't watch.

@Love my grandkids , Why not just ignore the post , it was clear from the title what the subject was.

What is this obsessive need to control what is posted ?

I challenge the OP's claim to knowledge of broadcast industry "standards and practices."

For example,  there's plenty of drinking depicted in Blue Bloods.

And one cast member has said that the whiskey is the real deal.

I haven't watched QVC in a long time so I have no feelings about whether they are drinking real wine or something to simulate real wine.  There is a difference however between watching a pre-recorded tv show or movie and seeing someone drinking compared to a live show.  I don't think I would like tuning in to my local nightly news and seeing the anchors having a glass of wine while broadcasting.  Sometimes the giggling and childish comments are bad enough.

There's not much we can do about the decisions that QVC makes regarding this subject that seems to infuriate many people.  It's a shopping channel and apparently making the hosts relatable to the at home shoppers seems to bring in more money.

Whether or not you enjoy wine isn't really the point.  I enjoy a glass of wine but I didn't have it while I was sitting at my desk during my working hours.

Let me end this with a funny story.  The veterinarian I used to work for would always bring a can of diet soda back with him after he returned from lunch.  He lived very close and always went home during the lunch hour.  One day I saw him coming across the parking lot carrying a can that didn't look like his usual diet coke.  As he entered the building I noticed it was a can of Coors Light Beer.  Fortunately there was no one in the waiting room.  I asked him if he meant to bring beer to work.  He looked at the can and said I just grabbed this from the fridge and didn't notice what it was.  The colors of both the beer and soda were the same on the cans.  He said omg I feel so stupid what if clients had been here and saw me coming in with a can of beer.  He had a great sense of humor so we all laughed it off but I imagine a few of our clients would have not seen it as so funny.

On occasion we would have a medical inspector come in without warning to check our hospital.  Just in case he showed up on that day the doctor went back to his car and hid the can in the trunk. After that he told me he always checked the can before grabbing it from the fridge.
