WIhat is up with the Hosts drinking (from wine glasses, supposedly wine) on air quite frequently?  As someone close to television standards and practices,  it was forbidden for anyone on any program to drink or smoke on air.   Wondering if QVC got the memo years ago? or is it Ginger Ale they are drinking made to look like wine. (as is sometimes the case).

they may or may not be drinking while on air.....who really knows?

they DO sell wines on air often.

we are all adults.....nothing wrong with having a glass of wine on air, whether or not you are sipping or pretending to sip.

there are no specific laws that prohibit the use or consumption of alcohol on public broadcasting platforms. local ordinances vary, there are no Federal laws that regulate drinking on television."

Oh my.  Another "drinking on air" discussion.  I'm thinking I'll soon see the "Where's Shawn?" discussioin pop up next.

this topic has been beat to death!!! They show the hosts taking sips of wine bc they want to make the viewer feel like the hosts are our friends and since drinking wine seems to be the "in" thing, that makes the hosts more relatable to viewers. I personally don't like wine, however, I do love a good mixed drink, it doesn't make me want to order anymore or less. I don't have a problem with a host having a sip of wine, I very seriously doubt they get tipsy or slobbering drunk. It's just another sales tactic to seem more relatable to the viewers.

@Hoping for the best In the name of all that's holy PLEASE stop beating this dead horse! There are many posts about this and often get deleted as they get very argumentative.
