I’ve been waiting over a decade for QVC to bring in a designer who can offer décor that feels genuinely upscale and elegant. Valerie Parr Hill has her audience, but she isn’t serving customers who want pieces suitable for more refined, high‑end homes. Carrie Locklyn is presented as an accomplished interior designer, but her aesthetic is stuck in 2009, and it shows in the Home Reflections line.

QVC used to offer a wider range of styles. Now, almost the entire assortment is looks cheap. When something more elevated appears, it sells out immediately. That should tell the buying team everything they need to know.

And if QVC can successfully sell Elemis, Givenchy, and multiple luxury beauty brands, then they clearly have a customer base that appreciates higher‑end goods. The issue isn’t demand. It’s that QVC keeps buying for the most traditional end of their audience while constantly signaling that they want the business of customers with more elegant, higher‑end taste.

@Pauline5147 - Have you tried the Simply Stunning line by Janine Graff? She will have spring items this year. What types of things are you wanting to see offered?

Re: Home Decor Products

Since they also own Frontgate, Ballard & Grandin Road, it would not be a good business decision to change the assortment of home decor items they offer on QVC to higher end.

@Pauline5147.  Do you really think those seeking refined, high- end home decor are shopping at QVC?  I think if I'd looked and and hadn't found anything after a decade, I would have logically moved on to shopping elsewhere.

I think there are brands sold by QVC, that are higher end, like Mackenzie Childs.  Yet every time they're on, people complain about how expensive they are.

@Sakuya  I have a couple items from Simply Stunning, but Janine's collections feel very 'Kirklands' to me. I think she is more creative than she's allowed to be.

The reason I've always thought QVC was special was because of the originality of the company's products. I like that they sell things you can't find anywhere else. I want those things I can't find anywhere else to be great quality and tasteful. My rule is that if the item would look out of place in a Manhattan penthouse or a Brentwood mansion, I won't buy it. I know that might sound haughty, but IMO, having that mantra puts every purchase to a good test and ensures that I invest in good quality. It also keeps me from looking at the item 6 months down the road and thinking, "What the bleep was i thinking?"

@Kachina624  People who appreciate refined, high‑end décor shop everywhere, including QVC, when the product warrants it. The issue isn’t where customers shop. It’s that QVC occasionally proves it can attract that customer, then immediately retreats back to the safest, most traditional assortment. That inconsistency is exactly what I’m pointing out.

I wouldn't wait 10 years for a company to sell something I want.

I wouldnt wait 10 minutes.

I go and look for what I want. Its not like you can't do internet searches.

Strange perspective in my opinion.

@Pauline5147  I understand what you are saying and do not think you are haughty. I assume QVC knows what their customers will spend on home items. I am sure you are aware there are other places to shop. Wayfair has many different price points, Z Gallery and Perigold have really nice items. QVC cannot be everything to all people.

@LizzieInSRQ I’m not ‘waiting’ for QVC to supply my home. I’m pointing out a long‑term shift in their buying strategy. When a retailer stops serving part of its customer base, it’s worth discussing, especially when the demand is obvious. I think it's strange that you think that's strange.
