@Bewareofunknownwebsites - Since it is not a website that was established by QVC, it isn't theirs to shut down. There are many "name" brand fradulent sites out there these days.

Same ads pop up on FB and email for "QVC"  deals for Vionics and more at 1/2 price...that screams SCAM SCAM..

Re: Fraudulent QVC Website

[ Edited ]

Some people need to stay away from FB. I love FB but when I see so many people falling for these scams, It's so sad.

I love to sew but imagine a $200 sewing machine for $25, what's wrong with this picture. People fall for it.

It's similiar to someone calling you up and saying your son is in jail and he needs bail money.

The first clue the website was fake was "a site advertising they offer best selling merchandise from QVC."

This just happened to me. There was a fraudulent website that popped up on website that appeared to be QVC with sandals and the time line to purchase was short. I purchased. It appeared to be a close out where you were being rewarded for buying mulitple. I purchased 3. The sandals look like something I would be hard pressed to purchase from Dollar Tree. I would never ever buy them under any circumstances. They are garbage and a clear attempt was made to mislead consumer in  order to sell the product as being Birkenstock instead of ******. The product arrived in a plastic wrap like a garbage bag and the 3 pairs bundled together. Very small package because very small crappy product. No one thinking they are purchasing Birkenstocks would every buy these even as a consolation of knock of version. Not even close to a knock off either. The listed sender is Joe Doe out of NY. That's not what was on FB for the ad.

I'd be pretty worried, because now they have your e-mail address & credit card number. You don't know where your credit card number could end up.  If I made that mistake I'd call my credit card company & have them issue me a new card with a different number.

Ads like these are everywhere. I'm the conservator for my sister and she did this once and ended up with a string of fraudulent charges on her account. We got all but one stopped by working with the bank.

Call your bank to shut down that card and get a new one.

Fyi, I would never click on an ad. I'd go to the actual website and see what it shows.

There's an old saying: If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Don't click any of the ads "flashing" on the side. Sometimes, the ads will have a line or two where I know they are lying. There was one ad that said that a famous celebrity just died with her picture next to the ad. I think most of those ads "flashing" on the side are click bait.

I was taken for $80 and sent the cheapest shoes I'd ever seen in a brown plastic bag from New Jersey. The return address advised that nothing could be sent there. It is a scam. People that work for QVC don't even know about it. The last one I spoke yo didn't even get what I was talking about.

someone has already mentioned this tip, but whenever I see something that might interest me on FB. I never click the link. I go to my laptop and bring up the actual company or Amazon to make the purchase.
