When adding a picture to one's post, the image is automatically saved in your images uploaded area of your profile.
This would not necessarily be to store pictures and use them later, although you might want to.
I use my computer, etc, for saving pictures.
Not if you highlight, copy, and then paste the picture. I just checked. My last picture is not in there.
I store all my pics on the fokti website. If it's animated I can't do that, but for just pictures I do.

@LTT1 and @dooBdoo, I've added images to a number of my posts. I just looked in the "My Images" section of my profile and none of them appear to have been automatically saved.
Do I need to do something in the posting process to make this happen?
Thanks, as always, for all your help!!! ![]()
I hope you each has a great holiday and that your new year is off to a good start!! ![]()

Hi, @bebe777! You've probably been copying and pasting images? If you'll use the image icon in the toolbar at the top of reply/new message box (just to the right of the "Insert/edit link" icon, looks like a square with a tiny mountain landscape inside it, which says "Insert/edit image" if you hover the mouse over it) and enter a URL from another site or upload from your device you should see it saved to your albums.
Thanks for the always kind words, and I hope 2016 will be a wonderful year for you and yours!

@dooBdoo, thank you so much for the explanation with a picture (otherwise I don't think I would have found it).
Tomorrow I'm going to give it a whirl and see if I can make it work. ![]()
Thank you so much for your kind wishes for me for the new year. ![]()

Ok, that makes sense. I don't post pictures here and was confused if posters were using this site to store personal photos. I have an external back up on my Imac for saving important things as well as backing up with a cd.

I agree with you. So many methods are really great for saving and protecting our beloved photos!
External hard drives I have not used. My dentist and I were having a conversation about protecting the external hard drive protecting our pictures.
He was stymied about the fact that he was trying to protect them yet if there was a fire, his method wouldn't have worked any way! He said the fire would get the hard drive unless he ran and put it in his safe every night... "And who wants to bother with that?" He said! LOL

@LTT1, lol, I've had the same conversation with some of the Apple Creatives (who tutor non techies at the Apple stores) and it's always interesting to find out how IT folks back up their backups. ![]()
I think my favorite answer came from the heavy duty techie in the store. He has his own external backup at home. Additionally, he has a company that he pays a monthly fee to to store a back up of all five of his family's computers. lol, and then, whenever he goes to visit his mom, he leaves a copy of his latest back up with her. ![]()
