Are you kidding?  They SPEAK for a living!!  If their voice is not well modulated, or if they mispronounce words, if they repeat themselves, etc., it is a PROBLEM.  It's not just a bunch of meanies on a message board whining because they have nothing better to do.


If that's the case then QVCs hiring process needs a complete overhaul. It is a little late to change their voice, how they pronounce words, etc,etc. they should never have been hired or they should have been let go during the training period. this should have been general knowledge from the beginning.

 

Letting a new person go because of sales would make sense. The other stuff, not so much. Just my opinion of course.

And so is the term "bullying".....My God it's a SHOPPING CHANNEL....I think a few folks need to develop another hobby rather than HOST CRUSADER!!!  If a host is annoying and we arent watching/buying that's the bottome line!

Your right, the hosts, vendors arent allowed to post on the Forums, HOWEVER, one time long ago, Antonella made a comment she does read the Forums and she even read another website that discussed the goings on at QVC.....so they may read it.  But the important thing is that one of the Mods said that they do pass on consensus of what customers are writing about on the Forums.....And even in product presentations you will hear a host/vendor say "because of customer comments we changed so and so....."

 

Some companies pay a lot of money to gather customer feedback, while QVC has the Forums, and other social media platforms to gather what customers are saying.  Is QVC going to implement each and every suggestion---HECK NO---but you will see some minor changes from time to time which they have implemented!

When you enter into the profession of radio and television, the voice is critical....some even go through voice lessons as part of their training (I had a relative that worked in radio and a friend of my sister worked in TV)....I know some of the QVC hosts have TV backgrounds and it just makes you wonder if the reason SOME of them came to QVC they didnt make the cut on TV at other venues..........

So, if they're not reading them, although I'm not convinced that's true, then it makes even less sense to consider critical posts a big deal...

I agree @Spurt... Whether the hosts are behaving as directed by management or not, their behaviors are a huge reason I stopped watching (of course, the stale merchandise is the other...) and I have no problem saying so... If 'constructive criticism' is an over-used phrase, for heaven's sake SO is "bullying"... It's gotten ridiculous... And for the record, other than extreme cases that are outright nasty and mean spirited, I don't have a problem with criticism, constructive or not... Some of these hosts are just atrocious... "Bullying" has been a societal hot button topic in recent years, and so, of course, some folks have taken up the cause, whether there's a cause to be taken up or not... The problem with that is over-use of the term dilutes the real and serious incidents that cause real harm...

If the company is not paying attentiion to their forums, they simply do not care about their business.

I had a friend who once worked at was then called a "Mystery Shopper." She was sent everywhere imaginable as a mystery shopper. Her job was to give a detailed report on exactly everything, every detail, starting with the representative of the company she met. Everything personally as you saw the representative from head to toe. Their communication skills. Their ability to l00% satisfy the customer. Ability to professionally conclude the transaction. NOTHING was to be excluded.

A company who doesn't want to hear anything bad, unkind, poorly written, too personal, badly spoken, not informative, unpleasant in any way, is a company that doesn't care to do the work of a business and in time will not be successful and will fail.

Actually the Q should pay us for our participation.
