@dooBdoo I feel the same way as you and agree with everything you wrote...

I would like to re-iterate that using hearts is not necessarily a popularity contest for me.

I use these to quickly:

     See who is acknowledging my post at that moment to possibly catch up with them 

     See which discussions I have recently participated in

     Acknowledge another member's efforts, or participation

     Use them in place of "like"

PS As most know, you don't actually "like" a sad event, but you can let others know that you care.

There has been plenty of complaining since the changes. The hearts ... I can take them or leave them. I have used them a few times.  BUT .....

Why isn't someone else allowed to express their complaint without having someone tell them if they don't like something  then go post someplace else?

To me, that's childish.  I have seen this time and time again with these new boards. Have you thought about how that makes someone feel?? It most likely hurts their feelings. I hurt for them, but then I have feelings.

Exactly. We are just voicing our opinion supporting the hearts feature since OP wanted it to be removed.

I hope the OP reads the thread and sees that she can deactivate the hearts feature so she doesn't have to worry about them anymore.

Why?  I think they're kind of silly, but nothing says I have to use them... and if I do choose to use them, that's the beauty of having a choice... If I later realize I hearted the wrong post and it matters that much to me, I can also remove the heart...  No harm, no foul.

This, exactly.

And the whole "freedom to express an opinion" argument is silly. The people disagreeing are ALSO expressing their opinions, are they not? That argument doesn't work to protect one opinion from other opinions.

The hearts are bothering you O/P? This whole forum and format stinks. I go on very rarely now only  to see my order status and read some of the threads that interest me. This washed out" wishy washy" format bores me.

i like the hearts - it allows me to chime in without repeating what everyone else has said over and over again.
