Different hosts in Prime Time

Would love to see different hosts in the evening prime time slots instead of the same old, same old.  So many hosts lists on the Host Page but yet so few of them ever appear on Q's main channel.  And, why is someone "hosting" in prime time frequently while these other listed as "hosts" never make it on prime time air?

Good question. Good suggestion. Q doesn’t read the boards though. They do as they see fit.

To me it's retail 101

Hosts on in prime time are the ones who are proven to have the top sales results.

Every business schedules its top performers when they have the largest number of potential customers and can maximize sales.

@Tori3569  But how would they know if some of those seldom seen hosts might do even better, if they were given better slots?

Re: Different hosts in Prime Time

They have a ton of metrics that they use to determine who should be on and what time and selling which products. The hosts know what the metrics are that they must hit.

I prefer they all be regularly  scheduled in one time frame so that I can count on routinely avoiding them.  For instance, I can plan on never watching QVC in the evenings.

I'm sure they have ways to evaluate a host's effectiveness during the shifts they have.  All kinds of metrics are probably used besides sales--how long people tune in, online sales of those items, feedback they get on hosts, etc.

At some point, they do start to weave a new person into prime time presentations, usually as a second person who's on social media or something similar.

QVC is not in a position to be testing hosts out right now.  They need all hands on deck.  That's why there's a lot of Kim, Susan, D&Co, Shawn, Jayne, Jane, Rick, etc.   Thinking a lesser known host will do better than a seasoned veteran with a proven track record is the opposite of business acumen.

Re: Different hosts in Prime Time

Kachina624 precisely my point.  We can't relax and unwind in the evening because of the same old hosts that so many of us disdain.  Bring on some new faces and give them a try.  I can think of at least one or two who get the most new, the top selling brands etc. because they constantly get that same evening exposure.  But even more than that, why is a "non-host" getting prime time in the evenings instead of those who have gone through the host training and been made QVCh hosts?

Asked and answered---top performers get the prime spots.  And if you're talking about Mally, she has a large following and must be driving sales or they would have made a change.

I love watching Mally and many others you think so many people disdain.  This forum is a teeny tiny percentage of QVC customers with a narrow demographic, so it's not a valid sample.

QVC exists to make a profit and value to their shareholders.  They do not exist for anyone to relax and unwind.

I'd suggest you can either watch something else you like or perhaps even stream or dvr QVC hosts you do like and relax to those.

Re: Different hosts in Prime Time

Thank you for your suggestion Tori3569, but as I have been relaxing and unwinding with the Q evenings for well over 30 years, I have also been a good purchasing customer, but I prefer to watch and purchase from more professional hosts who would rather explain the details of what they are selling rather than run their loud mouths while danciong around in front of the camera.  If that is what I would prefer to watch, there are multiple entertainment channels that do not bill themselves as a shopping channel.  But glad you enjoy the current programming and assume QVC is benefiting from yours and others dollars made during these shows versus years ago when they were not in the tank financially.  Something doesn't quite add up here.  Oh well, cheers!
