Colm De Ris Emerald Stoneware

[ Edited ]

St. Patrick's Day is a month away. As an Irishwoman I always look forward to QVC's   24 hour show. I've learned to buy ahead of time as so many items are gone in a blink of an eye ! I was looking for more stoneware by Colm De Ris. They haven't had any new pieces in a very long time. I'm disappointed as I thought he'd be an annual contributor.

They still have his bowl and I'm happy to have it. It's well worth the price.

The way QVC has been massively shrinking all Irish “days” to maybe 6 hrs in 24, there may be no more St Patrick’s Day or Rose of Tralee shows in a year or two. And often what they stock for the few hours they still do sell is the same old thing that people would have already bought if they wanted it. It’s sad.

I agree with you.  His pieces are examples of true craftsmanship.  I have the teapot .  It sold out so quickly the first year he had it I missed it,  I had to wait a year and was fortunate that QVC had some the following year.  I bought it without any hesitation.  I hope he is back this year as well.

I agree that it won't be around for much longer, and it hasn't been 24 hours long for several years now (same for Rose of Tralee).  Many of the Irish products are on clearance and have often been lunchtime specials (esp. the jewelry).   I think the irish days are numbered at QVC which is a shame. I always enjoyed seeing the products and listening to the vendors.  Those two days were always refreshing changes from the usual QVC fare and the show hosts.

No more day of Irish Fun on QVC 😰

[ Edited ]

I know  I'm repeating myself BUT there wasn't anything great on air for St. Patrick's Day!

My husband 's final gifts for me are from the 2014 show. I guess that magic is gone. Lots of changes on QVC lately. I don't care for shopping today as there's nothing to do with our Irish connection. Bummer, but I'm just one voice!

Wishing you the many wonderful things that an Irish blessing will bring.

Happiness, joy, love, and laughter, may your day be content

and may you smile happily ever after! Happy St. Patrick’s Day
