These are horrible...and it's silly that the 'tag' icon when writing a post has a colored smiley...I keep clicking on it instead of the grayed out smiley....

Seriously, there seems no real thought of organization or logic taking place with all these changes...JMHO!

When eBay changed their boards a while back, they turned it over to a monitoring company that had the same freaky emoticons.  They also had a 24 hr monitoring crew that sliced and diced the threads.  Infractions were dealt with by eliminating the posts and repeat offenders sent to Disneyland for 3 - 5 - 10 or 30 day suspensions.  Ebay wasn't doing any of the monitoring, the company THEY HIRED did it for them.  And it all started with a horrible, heavy-handed NOT user friendly change in programming.

I suspect that's what the Q has done here....  just a guess tho.....

I suspect you're right.  I believe the Q has always used an outside company to manage this side of their website, but it could be there's a new, and not very pleasant, sheriff it town...

And yes, these emoticons are not very good.  A better selection would be appreciated.
