I am not fond of the sand either....but I am more concerned about the washing instructions...the reviews say to becareful laundering them and no dryer...not even on no heat...I have nowhere to hang such a large item...and I sure don't want it ruined...so I decided not to order...too bad...as I would like one or two...

Where do you see that you aren't supposed to put them in the dryer?  It says no heat and that's also what they've been saying in the presentations.  Wash in cold water, gentle cycle, no fabric softener, and dry on the air dry/no heat setting.

Anyone like Ellen's fair isle throw?  I think it's pretty and different from the fluffy ones we see so often.

@Another new name Sue

I love Ellen's throw.  I got the red one and it's not only pretty, it's soft, warm, and cuddly.

I do have a regular Berkshire blanket on my bed, however.  It's also soft and warm, but since it's solid blue it's not as cute as Ellen's design.

Both of the other shopping channels also have some nice, cuddly throws, blankets, and even ponchos/wraps.

BTW, what's wrong with the sand color?  I think it is a nice neutral color.

A nice winter white/ivory color would be nice, tho, as the neutral color in a 2-pack.  Maybe next year?

Mine didn't shed till I washed it (according to directions).  Since it sheds a lot.

@HiLo

Mine shed a lot, too!  I laundered it before making the bed the first time and the underside has puffs of lint/shedding all over it.  Hope this will go away with time.  Not happy, but love the feel so I'll keep them.  Plus, it would be a pain to ship back and then there's the shipping $$$ involved.

Another vote for two throws in a set, neither palest-pale, or choice of colors, or NO white/beige in the mix. I would buy for gifts but not in the present choices.

Another comment after using this blanket for about a year. (I bought it when it first came out as a solo)  It has continued to shed, through countless washings.  Since it is warm I have continued to use it but am about ready to get rid of it once and for all; the blanket itself looks more like a dollar store purchase now,.  This is the only one of this type blanket I have owned that has looked and shed so badly.  I think QVC should have ordered a recall and refunded our money for this dreadful purchase.

Then you have made your choice send you suggestions to Berkshire this is the season of giving plenty of homeless shelters foster homes and veterans hospitals that could and would not care about the color sand but love a new blanket

I think the throws I bought at Costco are better than the Berkshire ones. I hayve had to really back off on doing business with QVC due to excessive shipping costs for returns.
