Closed captioning is its own business. They are contracted at high levels by networks, TVs, etc and are not owned by Q or other network.

Given the different accents, sayings, pronunciations, and other speech issues (ie: crazy host talk) found all across the country, I'm not surprised closed captioning isn't 100%.

@loriqvc ............On my TV.  I am aware that maybe nothing can be done, but I have CC on all my channels and while there are wrong words used, miss spellings, etc, I have never seen such a foul word written and so many, many mistakes as the QVC  CC writes.

I just want to make QVC aware of the incident because if there was this one there will most likely be more.

@Imaoldhippie - I totally understand. Since the incident happened with TV closed captioning, the likelihood of the error being something in QVC's control is very low; it is most likely that the cable provider or local service provider would be responsible. But the fact that it occurred on broadcast TV of any kind means it would also be easier to report to the FCC for resolution if you chose to do that.

@loriqvc .............I have been thinking about this  &  I have no way of knowing if any of the mods have reported it to proper management since none of them have left me a message or a reply.

I have done my part and its in QVC's court now.

In addition to automated captioning, it's *live* automated captioning - no editing! I've left the cc on my Roku and "turned on" QVC, and it's always gobbledygook. That being said, it is a computer program, so somebody input its vocabulary. Is it possible to have separate g-rated captioning? I don't know.

@Qvcmeow ........I have not heard of G rated CC.  Yes the QVC CC is unable to keep up when here are more than 2 people talking all at the same time and it gets confusing.
