ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE

ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE!!!! What do you guys think? Sometimes all the colors are too much for entertaining and hard to coordinate Christmas or thanksgiving decor.

Re: ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE

They had a few of the baking pieces in the all white a few years ago.  I saw them again on Tara's website a few months ago.

Re: ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE

The Temptations people seem to think they are competing with the all white competition & winning.    I don't see it happening.

Smiley Sad that's too bad. I would definitely by theirs over Corningware.

My personal experience is that Temptations is awful.  It cracks, chips and will scratch easily.  My sister had a whole dish set that crumbled before her eyes and CS just ignored it.

[ Edited ]

i've been convinced since childhood that food really looks better in and on white dinnerware.  I love Corning Ware and the white piecesin Rachel Ray's collection.  I have a set of holliday pieces from TempTations, but otherwise I don't care for any of Tara's things. My holiday set has been discontinued, so I don't buy TempTations anymore.

If she were to return to all white pieces, I might be interested.

Re: ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE

I have plain white Corningware pieces I've had since the late 70's.  They still look brand new, can be used on top of the stove, in the oven, and the microwave.  They are supstantial, without being too heavy.  The bottoms of them don't scratch my wood table, like Temp-tations do, even their wire carriers scratch the table!  I wouldn't take anything for my old Corningware!  They are true quality pieces you can pass down to your family!  They also mix well with any dishes I care to use.  I don't care for Temp-tations busy patterns.  I like to save patterns for my table linens, if I want to use a pattern.  I was always taught food looks best on white, and a solid is always better than a patterned dish.

Re: ALL WHITE TEMPTATIONS STONEWARE

The 'experts' in dining and cooking swear that food pops on white and it is the only 'right' color for serving vessels and dinnerware.

I think millions of people, including myself, don't feel that way. I find white boring. I understand the versatility of it, but I like some color in my dining experience, and I truly think everything served on white looks institutional.

Tara most likely won't do a lot of plain white as she has rallied against 'boring white ware' for over a decade now. She has done some of her best work in a few limited solid color sets though (in my opinion). Vintage Grace and a couple of other patterns over the years in solids have been just beautiful and in my opinion, should have been expanded upon considerably over some of the juvinile patterns and gaudy things that have been released in the last couple of years.
