If suggestions are considered for upgrading the system, can there be a way when starting a new message to not allow certain posters to post? There are several that pounce on a new topic to twist words, make a snide remark, or state the obvious in a devious way to get some negative start to it that was not intended in the OP. Many get off to a bad start because there are negative people just waiting to see what happens.

Or an option to delete posts when a person starts a message to keep it positive?

So what if we all ban YOU from our posts??? LOL!!!! What will you do then?

I can't agree to the idea of keeping people you don't like out of the sandbox. That turns the forums into one big popularity clique and an echo chamber. It does not foster community or discussion.
I would much prefer the Ignore feature be returned. That still allows everyone to post, but means you don't have to see or read the posts from people you don't like.

When you get on a "soapbox"......some folks are gonna throw tomatoes...

More censorship? I wouldn't want that.

It really isn't "your" thread. It is QVC's. If you want control over who posts and what they post then you can start your own blog somewhere else and set the rules for posting. I don't like everything that I see posted and I know some people don't like everythng that I post. However, I would not want QVC to give control to the person starting a thread. I like to see a variety of opinions on a subject because, for one reason, I might learn something.

@IMissSuperPoke, I understand completely how you feel. I'm so tired of seeing otherwise heartwarming, beneficial threads turn ugly because of one or two ugly-minded trolls. But the problem I see with this type of solution is, trolls have a habit of backing each other up. You may recall seeing them get their hateful posts 'hearted' and wonder why anyone would agree with them? That's why. They call up their equally mean-spirited friends to 'back up' their garbage, trying to make it seem like they are not being unreasonable...when of course, we all know better. So, imagine if these lovely people all banded together to go after others who don't deserve it, like a pack of hyenas torturing their prey? I can hear them cackle-yodeling like hyenas, now. So, it wouldn't work.
The ignore button would be great to have back, though. It would make them impotent by removing their power & mean-spirited 'fun,' that way.

If all this were to be is a Pollyanna board where no one can disagree with what you are posting, what would make it interesting? I love seeing the variety of ideas and thinking that is posted here.
I wouldn't even want to live in a world where everyone agrees with me.
As for the ignore button, each post is headed up with the name of the person who is posting. Why then would you have to read anything from a person you "don't like"? In fact, how do you know if the poster is someone you don't like - you don't even know who they are anyway unless it's someone you've met in person.
